' With her husband she flew back j from St. Louis in a’new Challenger Curtiss Robin monoplane for the Indiana Curtiss Company. “We ran into blizzards, with now, sleet, rain and wind that at times threatened to turn the plane over on its back.” Maibucher said. “Cross currents of air threw us off the seats a dozen times. The plane bounced so hard at times that the motor almost stopped, the gasoline being bounced from the bottom to the top of tire carburetor.’’ It was a wild ride, but Mrs. Maibucher said she enjoyed it. Hops to Terre Haute Walker Winslow, of Curtiss Flying Service of Indiana, flew to Terre Haute Thursday morning in a Curtiss Robin monoplane with two passengers. They were to return today. Student Fliers Enrolled Allen Stout and C. W. CofTman, both of Indianapolis, are the newest student fliers enrolled in the Hoosier airport flying school. Plane and Traction Linked I I.it'll I'rrss CHICAGO. May 3.—The first electric rail-air service goes into effect next Monday, through arrangement between the North Shore line and the Stout air lines, connecting Milwaukee. Racine. Waukegan, 111., and other Skokie valley points with the Detroit air line. The arrangement cuts travel time between Milwaukee and New York to twenty and one-half hours.
