MAP 46-HOUR CROSS-COUNTRY AIR-RAIL ROUTE Pennsylvania R. R. Plans Service: Predicts Great Future. li t tinted Press ST. LOUIS. Mo , April 18. —'Two transportation loaders, William B. :-*out Detroit airplane designer, and W. W. Atterbury, president of the Pennsylvania Railroad, predicted today that within five years there will be 100,000 airplanes in the United .States and that New York and San ancisco will be only forty-six hours distant by rail and plane. lid he expected airplane production to double every year for the next four years. ‘ Planes which now sell for $2,500 to $25,000 will be as cheap as $1,500 in five years and eventually even $500,” he said. The Pennsylvania railroad, Atterbury said, is now testing ten planes with which it expects soon to inaugurate forty-six-hour air-rail service from coast to coast, a saving of two days traveling time. "The schedule is to leave New York at night,” he said, “go over the mountains in a sleeper, transfer to a plane at Columbus, O , fly to Wyanoke, Okla., transfer to a sleeping car there and take to the air again at Clovis, N. M., for San Francisco or Los Angeles.” Former Nurse Given Divorce FRANKFORT, Ind., April 18 Mrs. Virginia M.
