INMAN DIVORCE ‘PACT’ IS AIRED BEFOREJOURT Lawyer Tells Details of Separation Agreement at Trial. By flitted Prrta RENO, Nev.. March 27.—An intir ‘ .at if evidence presented by w P. Inman, New York millionaire, was more definite he could have obtained a divorce in New York instead of traveling across the continent to Reno was on record today in the divorce Suit of Inman against his wife, Mrs. Helene Patton Inman. Emanuel B. Cohen, New York attorney, was the witness. He was ‘to resume the stand today and enlarge upon testimony about a separation agreement signed by the Inmans in New York in 1927. On Nov. 12, 1927, Mrs. Inman went to the attorney and told him her apartment had been raided, presumably in the hope that raiders would secure evidence to support Inman’s contemplated divorce action, he said. “I am going right after that lad and get this thing straightened up,” the attorney testified he exclaimed when Mrs. Inman told him of the raid. Questioned as to the purpose of the raid Cohen said presumably it was for the purpose of securing evidence which would permit Inman to obtain an absolute divorce under New York laws. It was pointed out that evidence presented by Inman, intimating unfaithfulness would, if sustained, have been grounds for divorce in New York state. According to Cohen, the separation agreement would have given Mrs. Inman $1.5,000 outright and from $15,000 to $20,000 yearly unless she remarried.

SPRING SEASON OF TORNADOES: CENTERJ U. S. Disastrous Storms Occur JVlostly in April, May and June. Bu ,V E A Service WASHINGTON, March 27.—This is the tornado season, for there are seasons for storms just as there are for roses and sweet corn. The dust storm that came down out of the Gobi desert 1,500 miles away and smothered Shanghai a few days ago is but an example of what wind can do, says the American Nature Association. Sand storms from the Sahara have traveled far over the Atlantic ocean. There are always reports of high winds around springtime. The famous hlizzard of 1888 was from March 11 to 14. This swept the northern half of the United States. The Samoa hurricane of. March 16, 1889, wrecked American and German warships in the harbor of Apia, with heavy loss of life. The St. Louis tornado of May 27, 1896, was the most destructive of the three tornadoes that have occurred in large American cities, the others being the Louisville tornado of 1890 and the Omaha tornado of 1913. Record show that devastating storms c ,ar ill spring and fall. A tornado is a cloud—an upright, revolving, roaring, devastating cloud. But it is not a typhoon, a monsoon or a hurricane. Above all it is not a "cyclone.” Typhoons and monsoons are

storms covering large areas, hundreds of miles in diameter, and they vtve rise to straight winds only. The winds of a tornado have a violent rotary motion. The word "cyclone” refers, correctly, to the great storm areas which pass, week by week, across the United States. If the barometer falls a cyclone is approaching. A tornado may accompany it, provided the cyclone is of tornado character; provided the locality is tornado territory; above all, provided it is tornado season. Tornadoes come in season, and that season is limited to March, April and May. April is the month of biimper tornado crops. A later variety flourishes in May and, rarely, a few spring up in late August
