CHEVROLET IS OUT TO BREAK SALESRECORD Hare Company Expects to Set New Mark for March Business. First anniversary of the Hare Chevrolet Company, Inc., in its modern building, 552 East Washington street, is being celebrated with an attempt to break the sales record of March, 1928. In March last year the company sold 177 new Chevrolets and 224 used cars. From all indications, the campaign will be a success, company officials say. The new six-cylinder Chevrolet is selling faster than the company is able to obtain delivery, it was reported. Enthusiastic new owners are bringing into the store new prospects. The agency’s modern service shop is prepared thoroughly to give the same efficient, speedy service on the new six-cylinder car that it always have given on the previous four-cylinder Chevrolet. Replacement parts for the new car are no more expensive than those for the four. The company is acknowledged to be the largest Chevrolet sales agency in this zone, including Indiana and parts of Illinois and Ohio. It has received four silver trophies in the last year for sales records. The company started in business in June, 1927, taking over the Stone Chevrolet Company, which had been in business here for five years. Soon after its start, it constructed the present building, which has more than 38,000 square feet of space. Both Frank Hare, president, and Harry Hirschman, vice-president, are well known in automobile circles of the state. ARRANGE SWINE SHOW Confer Monday for Exhibit at State Fair. Members of the committee in charge of arrangements for the National Swine Show will confer with members of the state board of agriculture Monday. The show this year is to be held here in conjunction with the Indiana state fair. An historical pageant also is planned as anew feature of the fair this year. Intellectual Student Strike PARIS, March 23.—An open letter of sympathy has been addressed to the striking students of Spain by a group of prominent French intellectuals, including Ferdinand Buisson, joint winner of the Nobel peace prize, and Victor Basch, president of the League of Rights of Man.
