No harm done, *for Castoria is a baby remedy, meant for babies. Perfectly safe to give the youngest infant; you have the doctors’ word for that! It is a vegetable product and you could use it every day. But it's in an emergency that Castoria means most. Some night when constipation must be relieved—or colic pains—or other suffering. LOCATE BYRD PLANE Three Fliers Forced Down on Ice Found Safe. By United Press NEW YORK, March 20.—The New York Times and St. Louis PostDispatch announced today that Commander Richard E. Byrd had flown to the rescue of three members of his Antarctic expedition who had been forced down on the ice, and had found them safe and well. Larry Gould, Bernt Balchen and Harold June, who started from the expedition’s base for a flight over the Rockefeller mountains, encountered a severe storm which crippled their plane. They were unable to communicate with Byrd by radio and the rescue flight was undertaken to determine their plight. PLANE CARRIERS ARE DEFENDED BY NAVY MEN Dispute Charges Huge Craft Are Vulnerable and Worthless. BY JOSEPH H. BAIRD United Press Staff Correspondent WASHINGTON, March 20. Whatever lawmakers may think of the value of the navy’s two 33,000ton airplane carriers, Lexington and Saratoga, naval men believe they are highly important ships and have no thought of decommissioning them. However, naval authorities now are convinced a smaller type aircraft carrier is better and they will recommend that construction take this direction in the future. One high officer of the navy bureau of aeronautics said he considered the two giant carriers “the

Ver-Wil-Ko is a doctor’s prescription and has stood the test of 20 years’ service in the everyday practice of its founder, the famous Dr. -T. C. Vermilya of Bloomington, Indiana. This accounts for the tremendous popularity and success of Ver-Wil-Ko, which is not a patent medicine. Merit begets confidence, confidence begets popularity, that is why the Ver-Wil-Ko Specialist

most important ships in the navy.” Conditions supporting this view were outlined as follows: Naval men know very little about co-operative use of aircraft and ships at sea. The Lexington and Saratoga give the navy its first opportunity for experiment in joint maneuvers. This knowledge and experience are necessary to maintain a modem navy. The carriers do not come within the “experimental ship” provision of the Washington conference and cannot be replaced. Should they be
HAD 15 YEARS OF STOMACH AGONY With It, Had Kidney Trouble and Back-Ache. Recovers Health. After years of torture from stomach and kidney trouble, Mr. John F. Bott, 625 W. Chestnut St., Freeport, 111., suddenly shook off all his ailments and recovered his health. His letter explains it as follows: “For 15 years, I had stomach trouble and kidney weakness. After eating, I would bloat with gas and suffer intense pain, followed by sick headache. My kidney trouble disturbed my sleep, and my back ached so terribly I could hardly drag myself home from work, and I was ready to drop the minute I got inside the door. I couldn’t sleep, and all day long I felt weak, dizzy, and lazy. Medicines seemed unable to help me, and life was nothing but misery to me until I started taking Viuna. In short order, I was a changed man. I can now eat big, hearty meals with no gas, no pains, and no head-ache. My kidneys seem to be fine again, and I wake up every morning feeling rested and ready for work. The awful backache is gone, and I can now enjoy walking to and from the shop. I feel stronger and better each day, and it is wonderful to know that my long illness is over at last.” There must be something different, something truly wonderful about a medicince which has promptly ended so many severe cases of back-ache, stomach trouble, kidney pains and rheumtism. Try one bottle of Viuna under positive guaranty. $1 at druggists or mailed postpaid by Iceland Medicine Cos., Indianapolis, Ind. VIUNA The Wonder Medicine

Mrs. Minnie Moehlman. 84114 Greer street, Indianapolis, Ind., heard so much about Dr. Vermilya’s prescription, Ver-Wil-Ko, that she finally tried it. Os course, it restored her health and strength just like it has done for thousands of others- Mrs. Moehlman says: “I suffered from Neuritis pains in my shoulders for years and could find nothing that would give me relief; I could not sleep because of the severe pain. I also suffered from indigestion, loss of appetite and constipation and finally my system was in such a rundown condition I could hardly do my house work. Every one seemed to be talking about the famous prescription Ver-Wil-Ko and the marvelous, robust health it was giving them, all of which I found to be true—nine bottles of Ver-Wil-Ko has made me well and driven all the Neuritis pains from my body. I will never miss an opportunity to recommend Ver-Wil-Ko to all my friends.” If you have tried the rest now try the best. Ver-Wil-Ko. See the Ver-Wil-Ko Specialist today. scrapped the navy would lose 66,000 tons. Knowledge of the value of carriers should be had by the navy before the approaching international limitations conference in 1931. It can be gained only by experiment. Each carrier, it was said, has eighty planes. The bombing range of these planes is ten times the gun range of battleships. The former, attacked by the latter, immediately would launch protective planes.
