MARRIAGE BAN ON UNBAPTIZED STIRSDEBATE British Pastor Also Refuses to Perform Rites for Divorced Persons. By United Press LONDON, March I.—3y announcing a ban on marrying divorced, and unbaptised persons, Dr. M. B. Purse, Bishop of St. Albans, has stirred up a hornets’ nest about his ears. High authorities on law and ecclesiastical canon law have declared that Dr. Furse’s ban is illegal. In an address in connection with the instituting of anew clergyman, Dr. Purse declared: “I have given instruction to the clergy in this diocese that so far as 1 am concerned they are not to marry people in church who have not been baptised. Challenge to Ministers I have been criticised and called a narrow-minded ecclesiastic, and have been told I ought to be stopped. Well stop me. lam going on until I am stepped. “It is a challenge today that we can do without God, and then people want' to make a convenience of the church. I say I will not be a party to it, and I say that the clergy are not to marry people who have been divorced. "I am not going to be a party, if I can help it, to any one being married by church service who has been divorced. “I am not going to make the word of God a blasphemous farce. No man has a right to ask a bishop to be a party to any such disgusting and gross act of blasphemy. Protest in Press “If you don't like it, go to a register officer and say ‘I will take you until you make life absolutely impossible, and then I will be done with you.’ That is the honest thing to do.” Immediately his statement appeared in the press there was a chorus of protest on the part of other clergymen. “The instruction of Dr. Furse as to unbaptized persons is clearly illegal,” declared one high authority on ecclesiastic law. “That relating to divorced persons is misleading and dangerous.” So much freight has been airborne between London and Berlin recently that special “air lorries” are under construction. These planes will not carry passengers.

Wild Horses Bn Times Special KANSAS CITY, Mo., March I. —wild horses in western Kansas have become so much of a nuisance the legislature has been asked to come to the aid of the wheat farmers. Martin F. Frued of Greeley county has a bill which will give the farmers who take up stray horses the right to claim possession of the animals at the end of two months. According to Trued, Greeley county farmers have corralled wild horses for more than a year to protect their wheat. The animals are strays from eastern Colorado.
SET UTIUTY HEARTHS Arguments on Holding Bill Slated Tonight. A second public hearing upon Senator Robert Moorhead’S bill to place utility holding companies under public service commission regulation will be held by Judiciary A committee of the Indiana house of representatives at the statehouse tonight. Senator Moorhead led proponents of the measure in the first public hearing Thursday night. He declared it would correct long standing evils, such as the fact that the real owners of many big Indiana utilities escape regulation of nefarious schemes through the holding company ruse and the public pays double tribute through profits to both the operating and holding companies. Opponents attacked the bill on the ground that it is unconstitutional, that in the case of municipally owned utilities the municipalities would come under commission regulation and their finances, become hopelessly involved and that the public is not really demanding such legislation. ‘LAST OF DONS’ DIES Veteran California Peace Officer Is Buried. By United Press LOS ANGELES, March I. Funeral services for Martin Aguirre, 71, “last of the dons” and for fortythree years a peace enforcement officer in California, were held Thursday. Aguirre, a stepson of former Governor Budd and kin of Pio Pico, one-time Spanish Governor of California. Aguirre entered the sheriff’s office in 1885.

Coated Tongue Means Poisoned System Your tongue tells your health! If tongue is coated in the morning and you have a bad taste in your mouth, it usually means your system is filling with poisons from waste matter retained in the body. This state of self-poisoning, or auto-intoxica-tion, causes chronic constipation, sick headaches, sour stomach, and often high blood pressure and hardening arteries. You need to stimulate your liver so it can remove the poisons from the blood and clean the waste out of the colon. Pure ox gall is the best thing for the purpose. It is a natural liver stimulant, as any doctor will tell you. You get the genuine, pure, ox gall in dainty, tasteless form in Dioxol tablets. Each tablet represents ten drops of the precious ox gall and costs less than 2c. Try a few for three or four days. The amount of old waste matter expelled from your body will amaze you! Note the new feeling of health, strength and energy that is yours. You’ll feel like anew person. All good druggists sell Dioxel tablets. —Advertisement.
