WHAT YOUR ADVERTISING DOLLARS BUY IN THE TIMES: According to the last Publisher's Statement (six months ending September 30,1928) The Times total net paid circulation is 70,083. 76% , or 52,922, of this circulation is in Indianapolis (Marion County)—your most productive territory. No other Indianapolis newspaper can or does offer such a large percentage of circulation in the city. If 80% to 85% of your business comes from Marion County, then your major selling effort should be directed there. Study the following charts. They show the amount of your advertising dollar directed to Marion County. 75 CENTS 65 CENTS 50 CENTS TIMES NEWS D. STAR These charts are drawn according to the figures contained in the last A. B. C. Publisher's Statements of all Indianapolis Newspapers (September 30, 1928). In terms of dollars and cents, seventy-six cents out of every advertising dollar invested in The Times columns goes to Marion County coverage. When advertisers are compelled to spend from thirty-five cents to fifty cents out of every dollar for circulation in a mythical market beyond the boundary line of Marion County (from which only j 15% to 20% of their business comes) results comes) resluts come high. i' _ 1

Circulation Growth! During 1928 The Times reached the highest circulation figure ever attained in its history (over 70,000 net paid) and was the only Indianapolis newspaper to record an increase in ciculation (according to the last Publisher's Statement for six months ending September 30, 1928) over the previous 6-month period. Since April 1925, The Times' circulation has increased more than twice that of all other Indianapolis daily newspapers combined.

I "HOW I WONDER What You Are" How many space buyers wonder what you REALLY are! There have been numerous exaggerated claims of "coverage" by another Indianapolis newspaper. This "coverage percentage" has been computed by dividing city (Marion County) circulation by delivery possibilites. Fortunately, circuation figures are known and accepted. However, there are wide differences of opinion on delivery possiblities. ' • ... The Times accepts the United States Post Office survey of August 18, 1928, on deliveries as being the nearest correct and most authentic record of delivery possibilities. Based on these government figures and figured on the same basis, 72% of The Times City (Marion County) circulation is exclusive in the evening field and cannot be reached through another evening newspaper. This large, exclusive and unduplicated evening newspaper circulation represents a tremendous com-munity-a community larger than Ft. Wayne-and a large portion of Indianapolis whose entire purchases are guided exclusively through the advertising columns of The Times. Big profits are to be obtained in this great worthwhile market. Many new advertisers have realized this in 1928 as evideneed by the remarkable increase in advertising linage. Many more will "cash" it in 1929. "Before you invest-investigate." | * * Jj
