CHOIR LEADERS PREPARE FINE CHRISTMAS PROGRAMS
Many Pastors of the City Will Start the Yuletide Services on Sunday and End With Special Prayer and Devotional Exercises Tuesday. BEAUTIFUL musical programs for Christmas services in the churches of Indianapolis have been prepared by choir leaders and pastors. Probably in the history of observing Christmas in this city have such elaborate musical programs been prepared. This is due to the fact that many churches will have a three-day service, starting Sunday and closing on Tuesday. Pastors announce special Christmas services on Sunday, with midnight services in both Catholic and Protestant churches on Monday, and with devotional and prayer services on Christmas day.
a u tt FAIRVIEW PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH Both morning and evening hours tomorrow will be in the nature of a musical Christmas worship. At 10:45 a. m„ the quartet of the church will sing the modern Christmas cantata, “When the Christ-Child Came.” with Mrs. P. T. Edenharter at the organ, and Robert J. Shultz at the piano. The quartet is composed of Mrs. Ruth Sterling Devin, soprano; Mrs. Lela Bunte Putney, alto: Evan Baker Walker, tenor, and W. Bromley House, barytone. In form, the cantata is like a mediaeval folk-song, set to music of the most modern type. Mrs. Edenharter’s program includes: “Holy Night.” Dudley Buck. The Pastorale Symphony from the Messiah. . , The Cantata, by Joseph W. Clokey. “The Christ Child.” C. Whitney Coombs. “Hallelujah Chorus,” the Messiah. At 7:45 p. m. will be held the Bible school pageant. “The Nativity,” conducted bv Mrs Harold D. Robinson. Miss Lucia A. Ketcham is in charge of the tableaux. The Bible school orchestra. Robert J. Shultz, conducting, and the girls choir participate. E. H. K. McComb is the superintendent of the school. tt a tt ST.
