Answer to Does She Love Me? BY MARTHA LEE Haw can you tell that your girl is in love with you? It’s possible, of course, that in line ' with the frankness of the times, your sweetheart has left no doubt in your mind if you stand high in her affections. But if by any chance, she’s keeping you guessing, what are the signs by which you can interpret the good news? Avery sophisticated person once • remarked: “When she stops being a gold digger and becomes a gold '.saver, she’s planning you for her permanent fireside companion.” Which is another way of saying that when a. girl really cares for a man she gets her greatest pleasure, not in being expensively entertained, but just ip being with “him.” Os course, the modern girl’s reputation for extravagance and mild ygold digging is not unfounded, but - like many of her other faults, it’s much a surface trait. Really, she shows signs of being more highly entertained by a young man’s -conversation than by the latest :musical show; when she seems for the time being to have entirely lost .her taste for the bright lights and wants to be much alone with .just him—well he had better make up his own mind quickly, for she’s most likely falling in love with him. Here is a letter from a man who would like to know how the winds of love are blowing: „• Dear Martha Lee—l am much Interested |n a very fine girl. My principal trouble Is Jthat I don’t know how to entertain her. Do girls like picture shows most or vaudeville or what? She seems to be willing to "go any place I mention, but sometimes I “•think she does not really care about going Neither. We like to talk to each other a ; lot and are very congenial. How can I tell what she Teally wants to do and also how ■'can I tell if she likes me particularly? JOE M. - Well, Joe, it would seem that you -could be quite frank with her as you ;;are so congenial and ask her what \she really prefers. Perhaps your ’girl friend admires you so much 1 that any place, whether it is home "or at the theater, seems all right to ■her. It really looks that way and 'I should say the chances are very : good that she is either in love, or is inclining in that direction.

Parents Need Control

BY OLIVE ROBERTS BARTON One of the cause)? of lowered efficiency, we know, is lack of emotional control. If one is angry, jealous, or hating someone actively, he cannot work well. Other things, such as overexcitement, worry, shame, fear, or even more pleasant sensation suejj as intense love will undermine not only work, but mental processes and health. A temperamental person with a half-trigger nervous system, jumping from the extremes of happiness one day to the depths of despair the next, or lost in an abyss of hate or other emotion, is seldom well. Moreover his work is likely to be erratic and none too dependable. The daily job of being a parent requires that mentally, morally and physically, he, be efficinet. But he cannot be efficient if he loses emotional control. It is easy, of course to tell fathers and mothers never to get angry, to overcome their dislikes and hatreds, to banish discontent. But it is a fact that parents can do a great deal of harm to children by lack of emotional control in themselves. Worry, we can not get away from so easily. But half the time we worry about things that are not necessary. For one thing we worry too much about what other people will think. Besides, half our worries are not worries, but longings. Self-control, an even disposition, liking people, ceasing to be envious of other people’s luck, not getting foolishly worked up over trifles —all these things will make home happier and the care of the children easier. In other words, the best parents are those who are satisfied and happy, and like Emerson’s unforgettable motto, are those who “avoid excessive joy and complaining grief.” Children instinctively respect the mother or father who refuses to give way to petty emotions. Naturally, obedience will follow much more readily in the wake of this respect. Pledgegs to Entertain Pledges of Sigma Delta Tau sorority will entertain members with a Christmas party Wednesday at Hotel Lincoln. The following pledges will provide entertainment: Misses Loreine Riegger, Valeria Bosenberg, Doris Kays, Mary Carr and Mary DeJean.
