BOARD TO SELL BOND ISSUE TO IMPROVEPARKS Expect Jo Raise $150,000 for Community Houses and Development. Passage of a bond issue of more t,han $150,000 to enable the park board to build four community houses and improve park lands is contemplated by the park officials. John E. Milnor, park board president, ordered J. E. Perry, engineer, and Edward B. Raub Jr., attorney, to survey the needs of the department and prepare for the bond issue. The park property was neglected for several months, because of the failure of the city to sell bonds. Milnor said the board i~ anxious to improve all park property. Draining and lading out of drives and other improvements on several small tracts will be included. Tennis Courts Planned Community houses at Christian, Douglas, Eagle Creek and Dearborn parks are expected to be built out of the fund. ‘ - We will not know much about the cost until the class of buildings is decided upon. There are a number of improvements that should be made and we want department heads to survey the needs,” Milnor declared. Driveways auditoriums, tennis and playgrounds and possibly golf courses will be built out on some cf the tracts, it is said. Tree Purchase Urged Irvington residents petitioned the board to buy property of Mae and Lois Kile, 5939 Beechwood avenue, which has on it a fine bur oak tree
