Committees for Theater Announced MISS SARA LAUTER, chairman of the administrative committee of the Indianapolis Little Theatre, announces the complete membership of two of the major committees which are to serve throughout the season in connection with actual production of the plays. Mrs. Norman Green will again act as chairman of the costume committee, and Mrs. William Allen Moore will be in charge of properties. The second production of the 1928-29 season will be presented Wednesday evening and will be repeated Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Friday and Saturday, Dec. 21 and 22, with special matinees Saturday, Dec. 15, and Saturday, Dec. 22. Dramatist and Reader on Program MISS GAY MACLAREN, dramatist and reader, will present the program at the general meeting of the Woman’s Department Club at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon. She will be introduced by Mrs. Littleberry Foster, chairman of the drama department. The pr—ram to be given by Miss MacLe K will feature her own play, “Father and Dad,” in which she takes all the parts herself. The art of Miss MacLaren consists in the presentation of plays without any aid simplest stage settings and her gift of mimicry and memory. Mrs. C. M. Breece will be in charge of a musical program. Paul J. Mendelssohn, violinist, accompanied by Mme. Julson, will play “Hegre Kati,” Geno Hubay; “Canzonetta,” Ambrosio, and “Ave Maria,” Gounod. Mr. Mendelssohn was formerly with the New York and Detroit symphony orchestras. Following the program tea will be served by members of the general hospitality committee and the drama department committee, assisted by: Mesdames. O. A. Wtley. Victor Hendall, H. E. P. Mesdames w. h. hanning president of the Chalcedony Club; Frank Wilson, of the Women’s Auxiliary to the Railway Mail Association; Donald Graham, of the Welfare Club and Miss Edna Fevrier, vice-president of Chee Foo chapter, International Study and Travel Club, have been named chairmmen of Marion County Tuberculosis Association Christmas Seal sale booths in the downtown district. The sale opened today. Mrs. Roy H. Peterson, vicer resident of the board of directors of the Indianapolis Women’s PanHellenic organization, and Mrs. George Witt, a member of the board, are among those who are on committees in charge of the appearance of the New York company of “Naughty Marietta,” which wil be produced Wednesday afternoon and evening at the Murat Theater. Miss Gay MacLearen will present the program before members of the Woman’s Department Club at a general meeting Wednesday.

Monday Indianapolis Literary Club members will hold an evening meeting at the D. A. R. chapter house. Ferrid T. Taylor will speak on “Voltaire.” The Christmas party of the Irvington Coterie will be held at the home of Mrs. F. T. Davenport, 814 North Audubon road. The committee in charge consists of Mesdames W. The subject for study will be the “State of Indiana.” Mrs. R. E. Stevenson will talk on “State Constitution and General Assembly” and Mrs. R. H. Grand Duke Will Present Lecture Here Wednesday Grand Duke Alexander Michaelovich, cousin and brother-in-law of the late Czar Nicholas II of Russia and cousin-in-law of King George of England, arrived recently from Paris, for his third visit to America. He will lecture at 8:15 Wednesday evening at the Masonic temple on “Out of My Life.” His appearance in Indianapolis is being sponsored by the Indianapolis Business and Professional Women’s Club. The duke, head of the imperial house of Russia, exiled with his family in Paris, visit his sons, Prince Dimitri, New York, and Rosisiav, Chicago. He was met, as he debarked from the Leviathan by his niece, Mrs. W. B. Matrix Table Guest List Made Public ANNOUNCEMENT has been made of the guests who will attend the first Matrix Table, to be given by Theta Sigma Phi, women’s journalistic fraternity, Butler chapter, Tuesday evening f t the Map* i hotel. _ , . Speakers will be Mrs. Beulah Brown Fletcher, newspaper woman and Miss Mary B. Orvis, writer of short stories and author of “Short Story Writing.” The Matrix Table, which will be an annual event, will be attended by the elect of the school, women of the faculty, alumnae and prominent newspaper women throughout Indiana. Mrs. Fletcher was feature writer on the Indianapolis Star during the first five years of its existence, and for the Scripps-Howard newspapers for a number of years and publicity representative for Margaret Aught, John Drew and Mrs. Leslie Carter. She was also dramatic and feature editor for the St. Louis Republic. Miss Orvis is a member of the faculty in the Indiana university extension school and of Theta Sigma Phi. She will talk on “Personality in Writing.” She will tell of her experiences in teaching and review three recent books. She was graduated from the University of Wisconsin and received an M. A. degree from Indiana university. Alpha lota chapter. Theta Sigma Phi, was installed at Butler university, March 4, 1927, with Caroline Godley O’Dell as president; Dorothy Stephenson Stout, Dorothy Carroll, Louise Eleanor Ross. Women to Offer Opera Wednesday MEMBERS of the Indianapolis Women’s Pan-Hellenic organization are sponsoring the appearance of the New York cast, the Charles F. Homer Opera Company, in "Naughty Marietta.” Victor Herbert’s opera, to be presented matinee and evening Wednesday at the Murat theater. Meredith Nicholson was the guest of honor and principal speaker at the annual dinner given Friday evening in South Bend by members ol Schuyler Colfax chapter at the new Progress Club home.
