IDEAL STORE IS PLAYING PART IN CELEBRATION Furniture Company Now Uses Eight Floors in Its Business. A store that has kept pace with the advancing trend in business ii the Ideal Furniture Company, 141 West Washington street, which is joining enthusiastically in the celebration welcoming the Old Trails Automobile Insurance Association building to the West Washington business district. Established twenty-five years ago, the store became known almost immediately as “The Big Store With the Little Entrance.’’ Today the store has eight large complete floors of furniture. “The Ideal is one of a chain of twenty-two stores, which enables the people of Indianapolis to have the advantage o. a tremendous buying power, resulting in savings that are passed on to the customer,” L. D. Foster, general manager, said today. “When the store was started here, it was decided to locate it In the progressive West Washington street shopping district, where quality is high and prices lower,” Foster said. Foster formerly was connected with a Chicago store in tha chain. Many special features have been arranged for the celebration nights at the Ideal store. Although a member of a chain, the store is peculiar!? an integral part of the life of Indianapolis, in as much as as all the personnel are Indianapolis people and are encouraged to engage in all civic activities, Foster said. WARREN COUNTY MAN WINS HUSKING TITLE Cecil R. Miles to Represent Indiana in National Contest. By United Press LEBANON, Ind., Oct. 31.—Cecil R. Miles, Warren county, today is the champion corn husker of Indiana. He won the title from a field of ten contestants at the farmers’ annual field day held near here Tuesday before a crowd of 5,000. He husked 18.61 bushels net to win the first prize of SIOO and the right to represent Indiana in the national contest to be held in Benton county Nov. 13. Entrants from Illinois, Missouri, lowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Minnesota, North and South Dakota are entered in the national contest. Harry Etter, Benton county, was second with 18.56 bushels. Other place winners were: Fred Cords, Wells county, third; Glenn Hinshaw, Boone county, fourth, and V. Wilson, Knox county, fifth. Embezzler of $117,000 Jailed Tin 1 vitrri Press SOUTH BEND, Ind., Oct. 31— Laverne S. Slagle, former teller of the First National Bank at Ft. Wayne, was araigned before Thad M. Walcott, United States commissioner here on charges of embezzlement and committed to jail when he was unable to provide $25,000 bond.. Slagle confessed using $177,000 of the bank’s funds to finance a radio company of which he was president.

Bu United Press CHICAGO, Oct. 31—Two men Warshawsky, daughter of City Colheld up and robbed Mrs. Israel lector Morris Eller, of jewels valued at $25,000 here last night. A short time later, two other jewel robberies were reported to police, bringing the night’s total loot to $42,000. The bandits forced Mrs. Warshawsky, her husband and a maid to lie down on the floor of a bedroom while they ransacked drawers. Mrs. George Levee and Mrs. W. J.
