Committees of League in State Listed IN accordance with instructions from the executive board of the Indiana League of Women Voters,. Mrs. Walter S. Greenough, Indiana president, has announced appointment of a state-wide finance organization. The budget for next year and plans for a finance drive will be made by the central finance board, consisting of Mrs. Frank D. Hatfield, Misses Sara Lauter and Adah E. Bush, Indianapolis; Mrs. J. E. Neff, South Bend; Mrs. C. T. Goynton, Elkhart; Mrs. Ora Thompson Ross. Rensselaer; Mrs. T. J. Louden, Bloomington, and Mrs. William S. Ehrich, Evansville. Subcommittees will be responsible for individual pledgees, local league quotas and pledges, year book advertising and the board of sponsors of the state league. Mrs. J. J. In announcing the appointment to the various finance committees, Mrs. Greenough said: “The board of directors of the Indiana League realizes that in this year when a general election and a meeting of the Assembly occur, the work of the league needs to be increased quite materially, which of course means that the organization needs to be more adequately financed than in a year that requires less active work. It is also true that for the first time in several years the league has a very active legislative program, which requires a considerable amount of educational work before the as • sembly meets as well as active work during the session. For these reasons. the executive board has worked out the state wide finance plan.'’ Monday Guild of Club Ready for Season Opening The Monday Guild of the Women’s Department club will open its year's program with a meeting at 2 Monday afternoon at the club home. Mrs. Othniel Hitch, chairman, will preside. Mrs. Robert Wilson will talk on “Echoes of National Convention of Federated Clubs, San Antonio, Texas.” A reception of officers and members of the section will follow the program with Mrs. Frank P. Lamkin as hostess chairman. Other officers are Mrs. Mary Parsons, vice-chairman, and Mrs. W. T. Shannon, secretary-treasurer. Holmes; telephone, Mrs. Cyrus Green, and ways and means, ' Mrs. John Dynes. fhird District j Music Clubs to Meet at La Porte The Third district meeting of the Indiana Federation of Music Clubs will be held at Laporte Saturday, Oct. 27. Mrs. J. D. Seybert, former president of the Matinee Musicale of Kendallville will have charge of jus program which will include a talk by Miss Julia Williams, Merchantville, N. J., national junior counsellor of the junior division, of which Walter Damrosch, New York, is honorary national chairman. The program will also include songs by Miss Anita Haag, of the. Young Music Lover’s Club, and a piano number by Jane Shill, of the Better Musicianship Club, both of Winamac. Mrs. Frank Vawter of the La Porte Amateur Musical Club will be hostess for the meeting. Halloween Breakfast Mrs. Earl D. Durbin, 1302 Congress avenue, entertained this morning with a Halloween breakfast in honor of Mrs. John Lewark and son, Charles, Fortville. INTERNATIONAL STUDY CLUB CALENDAR FOR NEXT WEEK
“St. Cecelia, Creator of the Organ and the Catacombes of Rome,” is the title of the lecture to be given before members of the International Study and Travel club next week by Mrs. S. R. Artman. The following chapters will hold meetings: Venetian chapter, at the home of Mrs. Vera Dunn, Monday. A covered dish luncheon will be served. Decorations and entertainment will be carried out in the spirit of Halloween. New members of the chapter are Mesdames Mayme Rhodes, Virginia Roberts, Meryl VFaymire, Getrude Hardin and Elizabeth Smith. Arabian chapter will have a covered dish luncheon Tuesday at the Garfield shelter house. Each member may bring a guest. Entertainment and decorations will be in keeping with the Halloween season. French L ick to Observe Halloween Arrangements have been begun for the annual Halloween festivities at French Lick Springs with appropriate parties, decorations and selection as Halloween queen of the most beautiful woman at the Springs duing the celebration. The autumn season at its height now and continuing so until late in November is attracting many from Indiana, joining the great majority of guests who are drawn from all parts of the country. The two golf links, the hills and valleys, are filled daily with men and women players, with much activity among the women on the nine-hole miniature course. Mr. and Mrs. William J. Hogan, 3103 North Meridian street, who were at the springs, have returned home. They had as their guest Mrs. Alfred Tayloe, Memphis, Tenn. The Hogans will return later in the season. ' Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Stanley, Newcastle, have been at the sorings for several days with Mrs. M. J. Peed, formerly of Newcastle, but now of Toledo, and her sons, Roy Peed, Toledo and Detroit. Mrs. M. S. Block, 2040 North Delaware street, is making her fall visit. Mrs. A. B. Carlin, Indianapolis, has arrived to spend a month at the springs, joining her sister, Mrs. Simon Lyon, Washington, D. C. IRVINGTON ARTISTS' WORK TO BE SHOWN An exhibition of the work of well known Irvington artists will be given Dec. 1 to 8 at the S. J. Carr sales room, 5436 East Washington street, under auspices of the Irvington Union of Clubs. Among artists who will exhibit their work are S. P. Baus. Robert C. Craig. Constance and William Forsyth. Ropkey, Thomas Elrod, S. J. Carr and E. King. Miss Flora, Leon Hicks Wed Today MISS ZELMA FLORA, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Flora, 5221 North Pennsylvania street, became the bride of Leon Hicks, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hicks, Crawfordsville, in the Broadway Methodist Episcopal church today. Dr. John McFall, pastor of the church, read the ceremony before an altar banked 'with palms and ferns, interspersed with bouquets of ivory colored chrysanthemums and lighted with ivory candles in candelabra. Family pews were marked with bows of white tulle and pew's reserved for members of Mu Phi Epsilon sorority, national honorary musical organization, of which the bride is a member, were designated with bows of violet tulle. Preceding the ceremony the Orloff trio played “My Heart at Thy Sweet Voice,” Saint-Saens; “Chant San Parole,” Tschaikow'sky, and “Liebestraum,” Liszt. “The Bridal Chorus” from Lohengrin was used for the processional and Mendelssohn’s "Wedding March” for the recessional, and during the reading of the service, "The Prize Song” from “Meistersingers,” Wagner. Miss Kathryn Bowlby sang "Calm as the Night,” Bohen. and “Because I Love You Truly, Dear,” Hawley. | Members of the sorority sang j "Brighten the Darkness,” Medin. Mrs. Robert Hiner was matron of honor and Miss Sara Powell served as maid of honor. They wore chiffon gowns fashioned Princess style, with tight basques, flowing sleeves and long skirts with uneven hemlines. Mrs. Hiner wore violet with shoes to match and Miss Powell wore pale green. They both carried shower bouquets of violet and pink chrysanthemums tied with tulle to match their gowns. Th y wore crystal necklaces, gifts of the bride. Robert Hiner was best man and ushers were Harold Boxstahler and Robert Stockwell. The bride, given by her father, wore an ivory bridal satin made with a tight bodice, with a V insertion of Duchess lace at the neckline and a long full-petaled skirt made with uneven hemline. The edge of each petal was embroidered with seed pearls. Her veil was held in place with a wreath of orange blossoms and clusters on either side. She carried a shower bouquet of ivory and yellow chrysanthemums and wore ivory satin slippers. She wore a garnet brooch, a family heirloom, and carried a point lace handkerchief. A reception in the church parlors followed, with Mrs. Flora, mother of the bride, receiving in a gown of Royal blue with hat to match, and shoulder corsage of pink roses. Mr.' and Mrs. Hicks left for a motor trip through the southern states, the bride traveling in a navy blue ensemble, with crepe dress and broadcloth coat trimmed with summer ermine. Her hat and accessories were red. They will be at home after Nov. 5 at 807 East Thirty-fourth street. Mrs. Flora was graduated from the Metropolitan School of Music.

Golden Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Fogleman, Martinsville, will observe their fiftieth wedding anniversary Sunday at their home with a family reunion.

Shaffner, Birmingham, Mich., vice president of Delta province, Phi Beta Phi sorority, spent today in Indianapolis as the guest of Mrs. Noble Ropkey. A luncheon was given at noon in honor of Mrs. Schajfner at the Butler chapter house, and this afternoon, she attended the homecoming game at Butler. This evening, Mrs. Schaffner will be the honor guest at a dinner to be given by Mrs. Scott Legge, 501 Blue Ridge road.
