MAYOR GREETS 300 VISITORS Job’s Daughters of the U. S. Open Convention Today. About 300 members of Job’s Daughters of the United States attended the opening ceremonies today of the eighth annual session of the supreme guardian council at the Severin. Presentation of supreme officers, a musical program and reports of officers occupied the morning session. Mayor L. Ert Slack welcomed visitors, and Guy L. Hursh, Topeka, Kan., associate supreme guardian, responded. The afternoon was given to reports and a business meeting. The grand guardian council of Indiana will be hostess tonight at the Severin at a banquet and dance. Election of officers will be the principal business Friday morning. A business session and a tour of Indianapolis through the courtesy of tne Indianapolis Convention Bureau will be held in the afternoon. Exemplification of ritual and De Molay service with the mother prayer will be held in the evening. Business and installation of officers is scheduled for Saturday, and a dance at night on the Severin roof will close the entire program. Daughters of the Nile gave a luncheon Wednesday at the Severin in honor of the supreme officers of Job’s Daughters. Honor guests were: Edith M. Beetem, Baltimore, Md.; Mrs. Marietta Shady, Salt Lake City, Utah; Mrs. Jennie Thomas, Los Angeles, Cal., and Mrs. Wanda McGuire, Terre Haute. Guests also were members of Job’s Daughters.
