LEGION TO GET BEST IN TEXAS AT CONVENTION Rodeo, Air Circus, Follies, Prize Fight and Sham Battle on Program. By Times Special SAN ANTONIO. Texas, Oct. 5. One of the greatest programs of entertainment ever planned for any convention -will be staged for members of the American Legion, who will open their tenth national convention here Oct. 8. Texas Legionnaires are joining hands with the citizens of the State generally in plans to give a great welcome to the convention guests. Governor Dan Moody, himself a Legionnaire, is setting the pace for the rest of the commonwealth. Probably the most attrac J '- r e entertainment feature will be the world’s championship rodeo. The greatest cowboys and cowgirls who swing a lariat or “bulldog” a steer, or rope a calf, will enter the arena at Texas League park. The famous cowboy band of Simmons University at Abilene, will play and put on a number of specialty and clown acts. Air Circus, Big Feature Another attraction is the big air circus on the last day of the convention. This will be staged at Kelley Field, America’s leading military and civilian fliers taking part. Exhibits of all the latest types of military and commercial planes will be made besides the airplane races and. stunts. Picked troops of the second division will stage a miniature reproduction of a night battle in France the first day of the convention, Monday. This will be one of the most colorful spectacles of the convention. Doughboys will go over the top, while tanks waddle across barbed wire entanglements and airplanes dart overhead. The roar of cannon, explosion of high-powered shells and the rat-a-tat-tat of machine guns will give the battle a realistic effect. Bursting bombs and flare will light the field. Prize Fight on Program Sergt. Sammy Baker and Pete August, leading welterweight contenders, will be featured in the main go of a decision prize fight at Fort Sam Houston stadium Tuesday night, Oct. 9. The preliminaries will be splendid ring exhibitions, according to Lieut. B. N. James, promoter. Beauties of six nations, the best of the song and dance talent of the world, will make the Follies Bergeres show one of the greatest and most artistic productions ever staged in the Southwest. The show will be given every night during the convention at the municipal auditorium under direction of Bernard Lohmueller, famous producer, and Jack R. Burke, entertainment chairman. In Birmingham, England, a postal sorter must be familiar with the names of 2,344 streets and in the southeastern area of London the names of no fewer than 6,700 streets must be memorized.

for anybody... yet THEY SATISFY*
THINK what that means: "Mild enough for anybody .. . and yet they satisfy!" Mild—yes. But something more—a quality of leaf, a skill of blending, that brings out the natural taste and goodness of the tobaccos themselves.

with the boys at the school. Whenever she wanted to go to parties or theaters she went with Charley Tennis. Tennis was ten years older than she and had a sport model roadster. Wednesday Dolores met Paul Stanford, Tennis’ roommate, as she was going home from school. Stanford told her that Tennis was married. Dolores went to the home of a girl friend, Audrey Helm. The Helms were not home, but the girl found the keys and let herself in the house. She went to the kitchen, moved a canary to another room of the house, closed up the kitchen and turned on the gas. The Helms found her body when they returned home. "A note beside the girl read: “Oh, Chuck, I loved you so. Your Taffytop Billiken.”
