DEATH CLAIMS C. W. BARRON Leader in Financial World to Be Buried Friday. By United Press NEW YORK, Oct. 3.—Funeral services for C. W. Barron, president of Dow, Jones & Cos., who died Tuesday night in Battle Creek, Mich., will be held from his home in Boston, Friday afternoon. Barron was one of the outstanding figures in the financial world and had figures in the dissemination of financial news since 1884 when he established the Boston News Bureau. At the time of his death he headed Dow, Jones & Cos. of New York, had organized the Boston and Philadelphia News Bureau and the Doremus & Cos. financial advertising corporation, in addition to publishing Barron’s Weekly, a financial magazine. He had been ill for several weeks of catarrhal jaundice and Sunday night his condition became worse. He was dictating and complained of feeling worse. He went to sleep and later fell into a coma. He roused only a few times from the coma and each time he regained consciousness he asked for his secretary and requested to know whether there were any important messages concerning his publications. Barron was one of the principal figures in the New York financial world, having been editor of the Wall Street Journal since 1901. t He was born in Boston July 2, 1855, and was educated in the public schools there.'
