AUDITOR TELLS JUST HOW TAX LEVTISSPENT Clears Annual Mystery of ‘Where It Goes’ to Soothe Citizens. Between taxpaying times, Indianapolis residents are inclined to go into huddles with fellow taxpayers to determine just why they should pay so much in taxes each year. Seldom do they arrive at any conclusion except the personal opinion that rates and levies are exhorbitant and something should be done about them. But few of these persons realize what makes up the amount they pay in two installments each year. Remonstrances have been filed against the proposed tax rates in Marion County on the 1928 levies payable in 1929. These will be heard by the State tax board. County Auditor Harry Dunn, however, has compiled schedules to show where each cent and tenth of cent in the new rates will go.
