Shower for Bride-Elect of Oct. 10 HONORING Miss Caroline Conant Maguire, who will wed Ralph Herbert Ransburg Oct. 10 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Mrs. Susan W. Jones, 3963 Winthrop Ave., entertained today with a kitchen shower and luncheon bridge party in her home. Flowers shading from yellow to orange, the bridal colors, and yellow and orange candles, decorated the luncheon table. Gifts were delivered to the brideelect by Master Fred Jones in a toy truck and little Carolyn Louise Jones, who is to be Miss Maguire’s flower girl, made the presentation in the costume of a chef. Progress Club of South Bend Will Open New Home Dedication of the new Progress Club home at South Bend will take place at 4 o’clock Sunday afternoon, with Mrs. Lutie Baker Gunn, president, presiding. An elaborate program has been arranged, with the principal address to be addressed, by the Right Rev. Campbell Gray, bishop of northern Indiana. A number of federation officers and well known clubwomen from Indianapolis and other cities throughout the State attended an informal opening party Friday evening. Sharing honors in the reception of the guests Sunday with the president will be the founders, Mesdames E. G. Kettring and Lafayette Le Van, and the past presidents, Mesdames N. G. Dakin, Victor Jones, K. C. De Rhodes, Fred Woodward, Richard Elbe], L. E. Greenan, William Happ, and Miss Maude Heath, all well known in club circles throughout the State. Kappa Kappa Gamma Party Final play-off in the Kappa Kappa Gamma bridge tournament will be held Saturday afternoon, Sept. 29, at the Athenaeum. Miss Irma Ulrich, chairman, will be assisted by Mesdames DeForest O’Dell and Joseph C. Matthews; Misses Mary Margaret Patrick, Joyce Jackson, Margaret Woessner and Jean Coval. CALLS MEETING OF IRVINGTON UNION Mrs. James H. Butler, 5718 Oak Ave., incoming chairman of the Irvington Union of Clubs, has called a meeting of delegates to the council at 2 Wednesday in her home. Presidents of Irvington clubs not affiliated with the union are invited to attend or send representatives. Mrs. Butler succeeds Mrs. Elijah Jordan, who has been chairman of the organization since its formation in 1926. It is composed of twentyfive Irvington women’s clubs. Miss Baum Wed in Home Rite Today MISS Virginia Alberta Baum, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Will Frederick Baum, Alexandria, became the bride of Albert Marvin Campbell, son cl Mr. and Mrs. John Brownfield Campbell, South Bend, at the home of the bride’s parents today The ceremony was performed before an altar banked with palms and ferns, interspersed with flowers in the pastel shades, by the Rev. Albert E. Monger, pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal Church, South Bend. The bride was attended by her sister Mrs. Charles Herbert Rines, Jr., East Chicago, and John Brownfield Campbell, Jr., Beloit, Wis., was best man. Little Barbara Jean Jescke, Crawfordsville, and John Brownfield Campbell, 111, Beloit, neice and nepliew of the bridegroom, were ribbon bearers. The bride wore a gown of white bridal satin, fashioned robe de style, with a tight bodice and long full skirt edged in tulle. Her lace veil was cap shape, with clusters of orange blossoms on either side. She carried a shower bouquet of bride’s roses and valley lilies. Mr. and Mrs. Campbell left for Cambridge, Mass., where he will enter his third year in the graduate law school, Harvard University. He has been associated with the ofiice of Arthur L. Gilliom, attorney general for Indiana, for the last three months. Both Mr. and Mrs. Campbell were graduated from De Pauw University, where Mrs. Campbell was a member of Alpha Chi Omega and Tri Kappa sororieties, and Mr. Campbell was a Phi Kappa Psi. Rex Haislup, 321 Kenyon St., took place at 8 o’clock Friday evening at the East Tenth St, Methodist Episcopal Church, the Rev. George pastor, reading the ceremony. The service was performed before an altar banked with palms and ferns, with seven-branch candelabra on either side. Baskets of pink, blue and orchid garden flowers were used throughout the church. Mrs. John Kolmer, organist, played a group of bridal airs preceding the ceremony, and Miss Mary Alice Tree sang ‘Because” and “I Love You Truly” during the reading of the service. The bridal party entered to “The Bridal Chorus” from Lohengrin. 4 Miss Elizabeth Coleman, maid of honor wore a gown of blue taffeta faced in pink, made with a basque waist and full skirt. A bow of pink ribbon, lined with blue, hung from the shoulder to the floor. Misses Martha Swartk and Elizabeth Trotter were bridesmaids. They wore gowns made similar, with tight basque waist and skirts with uneven hemline, Miss Schwank's gown being pink taffeta faced with blue and Miss Trotter's orchid faced with pale yellow. All the attendants carried roses and delphinium in shower bouquets and wore rhinestone wreaths in their hair, Marshall Haislup, brother of the bridegroom, was best man and the ushers were Crawford Furry and Rex Behrman. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white satin made with a tight fitting basque and long skirt of lace over satin and long tight sleeves. A long white satin panel was caught at the waistline with a pearl ornament. Her tulle veil was made cap shape with a wreath of orange blossoms. She carried a shower bouquet of brides roses and valley lilies. A reception for relatives and immediate friends at the home of the brides’ parents followed the ceremony. The table was arranged with a tiered wedding cake and lighted with white tapers tied with orchid, pink and blue tulle. Mr. and Mrs. Haislup have gone on a trip to New York. They will be at home after Oct. 15 at Aiberta Manor, West Dr., Woodruff Place. Out-of-town guests included Mr. and Mrs. Albert Habig and son, James, Auburn; Miss Florence Berry, Ft.
