STATE ROAD 52 AGAIN IS OPEN; NOJETOURS Bridge Gap Paving Causes Shift Around on Route No. 40. State Rd. 52 is open between Indianapolis and Rushville, without detours, the weekly bulletin of the State righway department announces today. The detour from Arlington, where two bridge gaps were being paved, was lifted this week. Anew detour goes into effect on United States Rd. 40, one-half mile east of Cambridge City to Pershing, where a bridge gap is being paved, for four and one-half miles. The four and one-half-mile detour on Rds. 12 and 20 at Miller, on account of city improvements, was removed this _ week, making it more convenient to travel these heavily trafficked thoroughfares. General road conditions were listed in the bulletin as follows: Road 2. Detour from Illinois line to east edge of Lowell is fourteen miles; good except west one and one-half miles. Road 3. Detour two miles north of Muncie to Hartford City is eighteen and one-half miles. Detour from Petroleum to Bluffton is nine and one-half miles. Road 7. One-way traffic bridge ten miles north of Madison. Bridge run-arounds six and one-balf and seven and one-half miles north of Madison. Construction Work On Road 9. Drive slowly past construction work between Marion and Huntington. Detour from one-half mile east of Howe to Michigan State line is three and onehaßoadllo." Bridge run-arounds at junction with Road 53, one mile east of Road 53, two miles east of North Judson, one-fourth mile west of Bass Lake and three miles east of Bass Lake. Wayne. Heavy traffic use marked detour which is five miles. U. S. Road 31—Drive slowly past construction at north edge of Carmel. Oneway traffic south Os Kokomo. Drive slowly north of Peru. . . Road 32—Detour between Crawfordsville and Shannondale is subject to change. Road 34—Detour from Veedersburg to Rd. 41 Is one and one-half miles. Detour from Crawfordsville to New Ross Is fourteen miles, eight of which is pavement. Old Road Used Road 37—Detour from two miles north cf Paoll to one and one-half miles north of Orleans is ten miles. Construction between Bedford and Bloomington will not interefere with traffic this year as new road is 75 per cent relocation and traffic uses old road.
