HEAT BOOSTS INDIANAUROPS Farmers Rejoice While City Dwellers Suffer. Heat, which during the past three days has sent city folks panting to every shady nook and has caused ' woo-begone head-shaking is bringing a smile to the Hoosier farmer and his family for “everything is corn and oats in Indiana.” “Mighty grand weather for the crops” is the watchword in the ninety-two counties of the State nd the farmers who have experienced > heavy losses because of winterchilled wheat are jubilant. The great heat will give the State a normal crop of about 90,000,000 bushels, James R. Moore, editor of The Hoosier Farmer said today. Heavy rains caused weeds to flourish and within a few weeks the rank herbage was as tall as the corn. Oats also were kept from growing.
