DETOUR TAKEN OFF ROAD 26; BRIDGEOPENED Highway Work Progressing in State; No. 41 Is Shortened. A detour on Rd. 26 has been removed and the new bridge east of Sddalia was opened to traffic accc rding to the weekly road bulle tin of the St-.te highway department. Detour on Rd. 43, north ano south of La Cross has also been lifted. Director John D. Williams said that several of the detours on State roads have been shortened as the v ork progresses, especially on Rd. 41, between Attica and Boswell where twenty-three miles has been cut to fifteen. Gen; ral road conditions were listed as follows: Rd. 2—Detour from Illinois line to east edge of Lowell is fourteen miles; good except west one and one-half miles. Rd. 3—Detour two miles north of Muncie to Hartford City is eighteen and onehalf miles. Detour from Petro.eum to Bluff ton is nine and one-half miles. (Both subject to change as work progresses.) Rd. 7—One-way traffic bridge ten miles north of Madison, and bridge run-arounds six and one-half and seven and one-half miles north of Madison. ...
