Material in the bulk weighing 180-300 pounds brought $11.65. Receipts were estimated at 7,000. There were 462 held over Receipts were steady to lighter in other divisions where the tone was unchanged. The Chicago market opened fairly active, 10 to 15 cents higher than Thursday's best prices. Beef steers fluctuated slightly, selling at [email protected] in an otherwise* steady cattle market. There were only 500 head here. (By Thomson & McKinnon) NE UTYORK, July 13.—There was a further decline of about twenty points ln tne cotton market this morning folloved by a rallied of about 15 points on local i.hort covering. The forecast for tomorrow Indicates clearer weather for Jthe belt with the exception of the Atlantic States. The marke so far has shown considerable resistance to selling pressure, the general public apparently not being willing to acknowldge the improved condition of the crop in the West. There was some selling of January and March today that looked as if European holders were disposing of some of the contracts they hold against fall and winter business.
