The dedication of Greenwich House Workshops, where many New York youngsters will be taught trades, is pictured here. Marshall Field, member of the board cf manager, and Mrs. V. A. Simkhovitch are laying the corner stone. for Hoover by its greatest vote in history. A fortnight ago it was the Hooverites’ turn to make good their pledge. So effectively did they keep it that today Johnson faces the Aug. 28 State primaries without a serious contender against him. The fact that he is unopposed is due to determined efforts by Mark Requa and others of the Hoover camp to keep the field clear.
DRY OFFICERS RAIR ANDERSON Nine Nabbed in Swoop on Law Violators. Nine alleged liquor law violators nabbed at Anderson, . Thursday night in a round-up by sixteen federal agents, were to be arraigned before a United States commissioner here today. Dry agents, in pairs, hit eight places simultaneously at 8:30 p, m. Relatively little liquor was found, leading agents to suspect that hint of the impending raid had leaked out. Those arrested, all charged with liquor sale and possession, and operating a nuisance were: Charlie Davis, 38; Stella Gorski, 50; Felix Marnsky, 32; Rufus Leslie, 35; Francis Kalinowski, 30; Charles Dailey, 29; Otto Sanders, 43; Maggie Wright, 50, and Tom McLaughlin, 31. Mrs. Kalinowski was permitted to go home when a neighbor told Bendel her three children were uncared for. The hatching and rearing of fish is called pisciculture.
