Miss Payne to Be Wed in Autumn engagement of Miss \ A Helen Payne, daughter of Mrs. Wallace C. Payne, 5631 University Ave., to Carl Gustav Seashore, Cleveland, Ohio, son of Dean and Mrs. Carl E. Seashore of the University of lowa, was announced this morning at a breakfast party which Mrs. Payne gave for her daughter. The wedding will take place in the early fall. Shades of rose and green, the bride’s chosen colors predominated in the appointments. Rambler roses were used. The announcement was made by means of a telegram which came to the guests during the meal. Mrs. Fred G. Johns assisted Mrs. Payne. Miss Payne has recently returned from Rochester, N. Y., where she was a member of the psychology faculty of the Eastman School of Music. She is a Mu Bhi Epsilon member and attended Butler University where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. Mr. Seashore is a graduate of the University of lowa and a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. Miss Schmidt and Frank Cox Wed in Home Service The home of Mr. and Mrs. Gustav G. Schmidt, 4205 N. Illinois St., was j the sc< ne at 4 Friday afternoon of the marriage of their daughter, Miss Katherine Elizabeth, and Frank Harvey Cox, son of Mr. and Mrs. Linton A. Cox. Dr. J. Ambrose Dunkel officiated at an improvised altar of maiden hair fern and bouquets of blue and pink garden flowers, made in front of the fireplace. Tall candelabra at either side were tied with roses and delphinium. Mrs. Louise Schellschmidt Koehne, harpist, and Miss Cleon Colvin, violinist, played the “Bridal Chorus” from “Lohengrin” for entrance of the party and “Liebestraum” during the ceremony. Attended by One Miss Mildred Read, the bride’s only attendant, wore shell pink lace and chiffon with a pink lace garden hat trimmed with a blue velvet bow. She carried an arm bouquet of Butterfly roses and delphinium. William Ernest Cox, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore an ivory satin gown in robe de style, trimmed in Russian antique lace. Her tulle veil, caught at the back with a wreath of orange blossoms, ’was held in place by a tulle band across the front. Her bouquet was of bride’s roses, larkspur and orchids. Reception Follows A reception followed the ceremony, the bride's mother receiving in a peach georgette gown trimmed in ecru lace and wearing a corsage of orchids. Mrs. Cox, mother of the bridegroom, wore cornflower blue chiffon, with a corsage of Mrs. Aaron Ward roses. The bridal table was arranged with a tiered wedding cake in the center, surrounded by garden flowers' in pink and blue. White tapers in crystal holders gave the light. After a trip to northern Michigan, Mr. and Mrs. Cox will be at home at 4205 N. Illinois St. The bride traveled in a navy blue flat crepe ensemble with hat and accessories to match.

The Marion county union will hold its regular monthly meeting Monday at the Y. M. C. A. Mrs. Eva Davidson, county president, has called a meeting of the board of directors of the county and all county directors of departments to be held at noon daylight time. Plans for the county convention demonstration by directors will be made. Mrs. Frank Burns will have charge of calling the directors to attend. The executive session of the Marion county union will come to order at 1 p. m. Devotions will be led by Mrs. Hubert Jordan, Southport. Reports of committees for the county convention will be read. Indorsers Plan Picture Show on Fourth of July “Old Ironsides’’ will be shown at the Palace theater Wednesday morning at the annual Fourth of July party of the Indiana Indorsers of Photoplays. ELIZABETH CHAMBERS TO LOCATE IN CHINA Miss Elizabeth Chambers, of DePauw university, Greencastle, has been chosen to accompany Bishop George R. Grose back to China, where she will assume duties as his secretary in September. Miss Chambers has been secretary to President L. H. Murlin at the university for two years. Previously she was a social worker in Louisville, Ky. Several years following graduation from the Jeffersonville High school, in 1918, Miss Chambers entered De Pauw university and majored in sociology, with the idea of preparing for the missionary field. She was graduated from De Pauw in 1926. She was a member of Delta Zeta fraternity, and is a member of the Greencastle Business and Professional Women's club. Miss Chambers will reside in Pekin, with an aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Daly. Mr. Daly is staff correspondent for the Chicago Tribune. Connersville, state chairman of music in Farm Bureaus and the State fair, for the Indiana Federation of Music Clubs, reports progress in the work of his committee, and that a place has been obtained on each day’s program, at the fair for county and district contests. i Dates Announced i The following program of district contests has been arranged for the fair: Saturday, Districts 5 and 6; Monday, Districts 3 and 4; Tuesday, Districts 7 and 8; Wednesday, Districts 9 and 10; Thursday, Districts 1 and 2; Friday, all quarters in final contest with a grand massed chorus. The fair board has offered the following cash prizes: first, $100; second, $80; third, S7O; fourth, S6O; fifth, SSO; sixth, S4O; seventh, $35; eighth, S3O; ninth, S2O, and tenth, sls. List of Entries Quartets and their organizers applying for entrance are: Fulton county, Newcastle township, J. T.
