married to the 26-year-old thirteenth Earl of Kinnoul. Both romances had their inception at “Mother” Herrick’s hectic night clubs, and though they shocked the relatives of the bridegrooms, they were according to plan as regards “Mother” Merrick. She, now 60 years old, was left a widow during the war by a prominent Dublin surgeon, more brilliant than prosperous. Given Best of Educations Mrs. Merrick was left with three children, the two daughters and a son. She decided to bring them up in a style to which _she thought they ought to become accustomed. The two girls were educated at one of the most exclusive British schools, and the son went to Harrow. Upon their graduation, all were taken into one of the night clubs and put behind the office window to meet, in entirely conventional and safe surroundings, the sort of young men “mother” Herrick thought desirable. She had the money, and she got the blue blood she sought for her sons-in-law. HONOR BALTIMORE MAN B,y United Press KANSAS CITY, June 22.—James R.
