Entertains in Honor of Bride-Elect MISS DEANE RUSS, 3015 N. Pennsylvania St-, was hostess this afternoon for a 1 o’clock luncheon bridge at the Meridian Hills Country Club in honor of Miss Lucile Rogers, whose marriage to James C. Riely will take place May 16. Appointments in the bride’s chosen colors of pink and- blue were used on the luncheon table where there Avas a large centerpiece of pink sweetpeas, delphinium and daisies. The nut cups were in rose shape Avith bits of blue on them and the place cards and tallies also carried out the color scheme. The gifts were presented to Miss .Rogers in a large pink umbrella decorated with blue ribbons. Covers were laid for: Mrs. Charles O. Rogers, Mrs. Louis Thomas. Mrs. Harold Palin and Misses Isabel Broom, Helen Coffey, Julia Patton, Grace Thomas, Miss Rogers and Miss Russ.

Club Is Scene of Pan-Hellenic Spring Luncheon Covers were laid for thirty members of the Indiana Pan-Hellenic Association today at the annual spring luncheon at the dolumbia Club. Mrs. L. J. Pierce, West Lalayette, State president, presided. Election of officers was scheduled for the meeting. Miss Helen Coffey gave several whistling numbers. Miss Elizabeth Madison sang. Delegates from Bedford, Ft. Wayne and Lafayette attended as well as Indianapolis sorority women. Sororities represented included: Alpha Gamma Delta/ Delta Delta Delta, Alpha Delta Pi, Alpha Chi Omego, Alpha Omicorn Pi, Zeta Tau Alpha, Kappa Kappa Gamma and Alpha Delta Theta. Nurse Singers at Hospital to Make Debut Wednesday A glee club composed of members cf the Nurses Training School of the city hospital, has been organized under auspices of the city hospital auxiliary of the community waifarc department of the Woman's Department Club. Mrs. Sam Sclka, chairman; Mrs. John Conner, secretarytreasurer And Miss Ethel Carlson, superintendent of nurses at the hospital. Mrs. A. H. Off, chairman of the music committee has arranged for the club to make its first public appearance at the auditorium of the hospital at 8 p. m., Wednesday. Arthur W. Mason, director, Indiana College of Music and Fine Arts, who has been directing the glee club, has had much experience in this line of work, serving as director of the Third Christian Church choir and also in directing Christmas carolers for L. S. Ayres & Cos. The nurses will sing: “Trees,” by Rasback;” “Morning,” by Speaks, and other selections. Nurses in uniform will act as hostesses for the occasion. Mrs. Demarchus Brown, who has just returned from traveling in India. New Zealand. Japan, Australia. China and the Fiji Islands, will tell of her experiences on the trip, in a talk on “Under Tropic Skies.” Proceeds of the entertainment will be used to promote social and cultural activities among the student nurses of the city hospital. Brown, lecturer, recently returned from a world trip, who is an honorary member of the Indianapolis Altrusa Club, will be the speaker for tho formal banquet to be held Saturday night, May 19, at the closing affair of the contention. The banquet will be held at the Riley room of the Claypocl. Mrs. Borwm's subject will be “A Song of India.” Mrs. Margaret R. Turner, Lexington, Ky„ national president, will preside. Past; presidents of the national association will be honor guests. George Kadel, tenor, will sing a group of songs, and music during the dinner hour will be by Miss Lucille Springer, cellist, a member of the club, and Pasquale Montani, Herman Arndt and an assisting orchestra.
Breakfast on May 19 Saturday ’ morning, May 19, the convention delegates and guests will be entertained with a breakfast at the Columbia Club. Miss Helen Clayton, a past president of the Indianapolis club, will preside. Honor guests will be those who attended the first convention of the national organization, held in Indianapolis ten years ago. The Christ Church boys’ choir will sing and a program of spring dances will be given by pupils of Mrs. In the afternoon visitors will lxs taken for a drive through the city. Election of national officers will be on Saturday. Polls wall be open from 10 a. m. to 2 p. m. at convention headquarters in the Claypool. Luncheon at Club Prof. Howard E. Jensen will be the speaker for the luncheon Friday noon at the Indianapolis Athletic club. His subject will be "Women in the New Society.” Mrs. James H. Lowry will sing a group of songs and a musical program will be given during the luncheon by the Winkenhofer trio. The opening session of the convention will be Friday morning. The Rev. F. S. C. Wicks will give the invocation. Mrs. Turner will make the president’s address and Miss Eunice Johnson, president of the Indianapolis Club, will make her address of welcome. Mrs. Emma Fox. Detroit, Mich., national parliamentarian, upll speak, and there will be a report of the national song book committee by the chairman, Mrs. Frances Norton Crume, Grand Rapids. Mich. For the dinner Friday night, at Hotel Lincoln, the Indana clubs, with the exception of the Indianapolis group, which is hostess for the convention, will be hostesses. The State flower, tulip tree blossom, will be given as favors. There will be severa stunts by the Indiana clubs and a musical program under direction of Mrs. Ruth Devin. There will be quartet and trio numbers and solos by Fred Howell Morris and Mildred Schmedel.
Orloff Trio Will Be Delegation to Musical Meeting The Orloff Trio, composed of Jean Orloff, violinist, Yuba Wilhite, pellist, and Frances Wishard, pianist, has been chosen to represent Kappa chapter of Mu Phi Epsilon, national honorary musical sorority, at the biennial convention at Denver, Colo., in June, as musical delegates, and Mrs. Clyde E. Titus, incoming president, as business delegate. The election took place at a recent business meeting of the sorority.

Two Federation Delcfiates The Helen Hunt Club of Cambridge City will have two members at the General Federation Club meeting in San Antonio, Texas, in June, Mrs. E. O. Paul, who will represent the club and Mrs. Robert Hicks, who will be delegate at large from the sixth district. The club met Monday with Mrs. Foss. Mrs. Feemster who attended the district federation meeting, gave a report and Miss Mary Overbeclc talked. Miss Conklin and Miss Blanche Boyd were also on the program.
