BORAH'S FUND a SIP TO G. 0, P. Question to Be Taken Before National Convention.
JHj United Pres* WASHINGTON, May 4.— Senator Borah intends to let the Republican national convention at Kansas City decide what shall be done with the $7,0C0-odd which he collected in an effort to repay Harry F. Sinclair’s $160,000 donation toward the Republican national committee deficit of 1920, Borah told the United Press today. lie said he had rejected, upon reflection, the proposal that he give the money to Pennsylvania miners’ relief fund. The money now is on deposit in a Washington bank in Borah's name. The Senator set out to raise $160,000 soon after the Senate Teapot Dome committee had developed the fact that Sinclair, who leased Teapot Dome from former Secretary of Interior Fall, had given that sum in Continental Trading Company Liberty Bonds to Will Hays, former chairman of the Republican nationa l committee. The donations came in slowly, however, and after a few weeks stopped entirely. The largest contributions were of SI,OOO each from Senators Cutting of New Mexico, and Goff of West Virginia.
