Jensen v head of the sociology department of Butler University, will discuss certain aspects of educational publicity. Turner of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology; Miss Helen Ciosby, welfare director of the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company; Burr Blackburn, chairman of the State Welfare Council, Atlanta, Ga., and Roscoe C. Thirty-five hundred executives and leaders of welfare work from eighty cities in the forty-eight States and several foreign countries are expected to attend the conference, Borst said. 'SAMARITANS’ ROB TWO Car Stalls, Girls Given Ride to Town; Purses Stolen. Two “Good Samaritans” who gave them a ride to town after their automobile stalled six miles east of the city at midnight, weren’t so good after all, Miss Getrude McNeece, 657 S. New Jersey St., and Mrs. Bernice Cohen, 713 N. Delaware St., told police. While they were 'driving to the city one of the two young men took their purses, containing small amounts of money, and the driver refused to stop to let them out, they said. When traffic stopped the machine at Pennsylvania and Washington Sts., they jumped out.

‘WEAR GARTERS,’ URGES ETIQUETTE LECTURER Clothier Discusses Style at Y. M. C. A. Meeting. Drug store cowboys were rebuked for wearing their socks around their shoe tops by Jud R. McCarthy, clothier, in the second of a series of lectures on etiquette at the Y. M. C. A. Thursday night. Among the “don’ts” laid down for the well-dressed man McCarthy listed the following: “Never go without garters and have your hosiery hanging down. Never go with a vest on and your coat off. Never go without a necktie. Never go without a hat when outdoors.” Edward Bradley, shoe salesman in one of the McCarthy stores, talked on selection of shoes. The next lecture will be Thursday. Prof. Lenora Weimer of Indiana Central College will talk. About 160 men are attending.
