WATSON FILM REJECTED BY ! NEWSMOVIES Attempt to Slip Pictures Into Reels Proves Failure. Filureof Senator James E. Watson’s attempt to slip 1,000-foot strips into news reels in the absence of Will H. Hays, movie czar, provoked chuckles in Hoosier political circles today. Views of Senator Watson, his family and his house and grounds at Rushville were included in the reels, which were sent news rel distributors at New York, accompanied by letters saying that their use would be appreciated by Will H. Hays. Hays is in Europe. Os the incident, the current issue of Variety, national theatrical magazine published at New York, has this to say: “All of the picture news reel makers have received a 1,00-foot strip on Senator Watson of Indiana, possible Republican nominee for the presidency. Each news reel turned it down. “The Watson reel came from the Will Hays official office as the welfare director of the picture industry. With it was a reuest with the singer unknown, stating that the whole or part if inserted into any news reel issue would be appreciated by Mr. Hays. “In the reel were views of the Senator in his Indiana home, family, house, grounds. “Will Hays is from Indiana. “The news reels have carried shots of various candidates for the nomination, Democrats and Republicans, but particularly of Herbert Hoover. These were mostly of last year, when believed of news interest through timeliness. With the approach of the national conventions, it was thought that Hays would give air to political propaganda instead of fomenting it. “The Hays office in reality Is a censor of all news reels. It passes upon many subjects submitted to it by the news reel producers and especially upon anything savoring of advertising or publicity.” FIRE FORCE RESIGNS Whole Department Quits, Ilurt by Criticism. BENTON HARBOR, Mich., April 27.—Unwarranted criticism, according to members of the department, was the cause behind the resignation of the entire force of fire fighters at St. Joseph recently. The censure was for the department’s handling of two fires which caused exceedingly heavy damage.

Dull Headache All Day How often we hear this remark made so lightly. Headache is not natural—there is a cause. Improper elimination is one of the most frequent causes, and may lead to something more serious.
