STATE SHOWS OiUNCREASE Southwestern Wells Boost 1928 Production. Twenty-five thousand barrels more of oil were produced in Indiana during the first two months of 1928 than in the corresponding period of 1927, the geological division of the State department of conservation announced today. Increased production in the southwestern part of the State is responsible for the increase. It makes up for the loss in the northeastern fields. Production for January and February of this year for the entire State was 159.000 barrels and for the same months in 1927 was 134,000 barrels. In the southwestern producing area, the pool south of Terre Haute on the Vigo-Sulllvan Counties line, had an important part in creating i the increase. This section produced j 144,000 barrels during January and ] February, 1928, in comparison with ! 113.000 barrels for the same period in 1927. Northeastern fields for the first two months of this year produced 15,000 barrels compared to 21,000 j barrels for the same months in 1927. !
