B.2s''' 8.75 8.75 6,500 Hogs were 5 to 10 cents higher on the hundredweight in heavy classes at the Union Stockyards today following a drop of similar proportions Thursday. The top remained at $8.75 and 'animals in the bulk sold at $8.25 and up. About 6,500 head were received and 1,583 held over. Calves were 50 cents to $1 lower and spring lambs dropped sharply. Other material tended lower with normal receipts. The Chicago market moved with strength going 10 cents higher than Thursday’s best. The top was $8.75, reaching the Indianapolis level for the first time in several months. Receipts were estimated at 13,000 and 14.000 were held over from Thursday. Most Hogs Unchanged Heavy classes in the hog division on the local market were the only weights to change, material in the 250-350-pound class climbing 5 to 25 cents to sell at $8.25 f >v 8.60. Middle weights, 200-250 pounds, were SB.OO 8.75, up 10 cents on the low end of the range. Other material was steady, the following quotations holding: 160-200 pounds, $8.50® 8.75; 130-160 pounds, $7.75<</8.50; pigs, 90-130 pounds, $7.0077 7.75. and packing sows, $6.7507.75. Cattle were weak to lower. Beef steers sold at $11.50® 13 and cows at $7.50® 10.50. Low cutter and cutter cows brought $5.50®6.75, and bulk stock and feeders went at [email protected]. About 650 were received. Others Lower Calves dropped sharply, the best bringing $14.50® 15.50. and heavy calves, $6.50®10. Receipts were estimated at 900, slightly higher. Top fat lambs were $16.50, off 25 cents in a weak to lower sheep and lamb market, with 300 animals in the pens. Bulk fat lambs brought $14®15.50, and bulk culls, $7.50® 11. Fat ewes were $6.50® 9.50.
