Prize Winning Recipes

Here is a miscellaneous collection of winning recipes for salads, desserts and meat and vegetable preparations for the dinner course. According to The Times custom, the twenty recipes printed each Friday will each win a $1 prize. Every other week day The Times recipe editor awards one prize of $1 for a recipe published. Send your favorite recipe 'to the recipe editor. Use one side of the paper and have recipe typewritten if possible. Othrwise, it must be written legibly. Checks for the winning recipes are mailed three weeks after their publication. This week’s prize winners are:

Olive Sauce Two tablespoons butter, onefourth teaspoon salt, ten olives, two tablespoons flour, one small onion, one cup stock, one-eighth teaspoon pepper. Melt the butter, add thinly sliced onion and cook until tender. Add flour and seasoning. Stir to a smooth taste and add stock (stirring constantly). Add the chopped olives. Good with beef. MRS. A. E.
