resentative Linthicum of Maryland, appropriates $25,000 for the expenses of the sixth session of the International Association of Roads Congresses, and requests President Coolidge to extend an official invitation to the association. It is understood that the association has already tentatively determined to come to the United States, and is only waiting to be invited. It includes the highway officials of forty-five countries, the United States becoming a member a year ago. All its meetings so far have been held in Europe. Unofficial plans for the entertainment of the visitors include a tour of the eastern United States following the official convention. This tour would extend as far west as Indiana, north to New York and south to Tennessee or Alabama. The

visitors are expected to include 300 official delegates and nearly 3,000 unofficial observers and visitors. BLIMP TO DARE OCEAN Britons Plan London-U. S. Flight With Woman Passenger. /.>'/ T nited I’rcss LONDON, March 30. A privately owned semi-rigid airship, with a woman aboard, will attempt a trans-Atlantic flight in September. The woman is Miss May Barbara Sutton of Norwich, who will act as head of the commissary department aboard the ship. The airship is understood to have a capacity of 250,000 cubic feet and can carry between thirty and forty passengers.

SCHOOL TO TEST BRICK Ohio State Plans Furnace to Find Fire Proof Walls. Hi/ Times Special COLUMBUS. Ohio. March 30. Through its engineering experiment station, Ohio State University is about to construct a special furnace to test the behavior of brick, tile and concrete walls in fire. Results of importance to the building and other industries are expected from the tests. The furnace will be large enough to hold sections of wall ten feet long and ten feet high. It will be so designed that the behavior of various kinds of wall can be studied with and without loads and before and after dousing with a fire hose. The conditions will be like those in a blazing building.
