THE Furnas Ice Cream Company will be on the air again tonight from 6:30 qver WFBM with the second of the series of golden anniversary programs, commemorating the fifty-first year of the company Th feature of the program is the Jubilee quartet of colored harmonists singing old-time spiritualists and plantation melodies. Ralph Elvin will be the master of ceremonies at the microphone before the program. Spring and the baseball season are anticipated by the broadcasters. Hal Totten, for instance, is preparing his best announcing voice to broadcast the big league games in Chicago, through WMAQ. And Jack Keogh of KPO at San Francisco is ready for the Pacific Coast League games.

Radio announcing is an additional course at the University of South Dakota at Vermilion. Eight students are enrolled in this unique class, and Miss Rachel B. Kegerrcis is one of them. She is heard quite often introducing the | entertainers from station KUSD. at j Vermilion, which \

Borah will deliver a radio appeal from Washington TVednesday night in connection with his campaign to raise $160,000 to repay Harry F. Sinclair's contribution to the Republican party. Borah said today he thus far had received $6,500 in cash contributions through the mail. Borah is to speak at 10 p. m. Wednesday from WTFF, the Fellowship Forum station in Washington. Arrangements have been made to have his remarks picked up at Columbus, Ohio, by a law enforcement meting there, because Boarh could not be present at that session. Station WABC. New York, will broadcast from the ringside at Madison Square Garden Friday night the boxing bouts, including the feature between Leo Lomski and Joe Sekyra. The ringside microphone will be connected at 9 o’clock, eastern time. An announcer appointed by the New York State Boxing Commission will describe the bouts. WABC's wave length is 326 meters. "Big doings” are scheduled to go over the air from WLS, the Sears, Roebuck station in Chicago, Saturday night, when the third annual National Bara Dance Callers’ Contest wall be held, starting at 8 o'clock and continuing until a late hour, a program is promised that Will have a universal appeal. The contest will be held in the studio of WLS on the sixth floor of Hotel Sherman. Each contestant will have one try of one set of calls •at the microphone and all will be allotted equal amounts of time. Winners will be determined by the ■ votes of radio listeners. All votes must be in by Wednesday, April 4, , at midnight. Grand opera wgill have a place on the Palmolive program Friday night when Gustave Haenschen, director. will present Donezetti’s sextette from Lucia de Lammermoor. Haenschen has arranged a program which will include popular, salon and classical music. Frank Black's Revellers will be included, singing "My Ohio Home” and “I’m Coming Virginia.” There will be a saxophone quartet rendition of ‘‘He Loves and She Loves” from Funny Face, the Guitar and Hot Trio will play “Sweet Man” and Olive Palmer will sing the "Shadow Song” from Dinorah. Other selections to complete the hour will be given by the ensemble, the Specialty Orchestra, the tenor soloist and the Woodwind Group. The program will be broadcast at 30 o’clock (Eastern Standard Time) through WEAF and associated stations of the Red network. "Trader Horn” will make his radio bow to America tonight at 9 o'clock as the central figure of a broadcast over WEAF's chain. A program specially planned to bring out the salient features of the j renowned "Trader's” life as Ivory Coast merchant, gorilla hunter, gridiron peddler and pilgrim extraordinary has been prepared. Arrangements for the "Trader” to broadcast were started before he landed in Manhattan from the steamship Olympic more than a week ago, but were not concluded until the venerable jungle-beaten author of today’s best seller had undergone the usual audition test for prospective broadcasters at a studio in New York. It was found that Alfred Aloysius Smith, to quote his lesser-known but real name, possessed a deep voice which would "carry” acceptably over the ether. “Nina TANARUS„” the white goddess of Africa, slaves, halfbreeds, elephant hunters, diamond and ivory traders, will come to life as this program proceeds, with th aged trader summoning them from his richly laden memory as his talc unfolds. A competent cast of actors has been engaged to support this

strangely attractive figure from out of the shadows of Africa. The Roberts Park Methodist Episcopal Church will conduct the Lenten services over the same station at 12:20 p. m. The Wheeler Rescue City Mission goes o.i the air at 4:01 p. m. with a “Sacrta Hour” program. American Legion will broadcast the boxing match at 9 p. m. Other features of today's program arc market reports, time signals and the othe> - stunts a it’ entertainment which make up the WFBM programs. Russ Holler's orchestra completes the program going on the air at 10:31 p. m. Easter, too, is in preparation for radio, WBAL cf Baltimore is the women's favorite at this time, for through it “the last word in Easter fashions” is to be broadcast. That's set for 3:45 on the afternoon of March 29.
