f I ■'AMAKIMIUR A, Japanese soprano, formerly of the Chicago Civic Opera Company and the San Carlo Opera Company, assisting the National Grand Opera Ensemble, will sing the title role in the air premiere of Aldo Franchetti’s opera, “Namiko San” with the composer conducting through the NBC Red network at 9:30 tonight. The opera, telling the story of a Japanese girl, was especially written for Wme. Miura by the composer Franchetti. It had its premiere in the Chicago Auditorium, on Dec. 11. 1925, with Miura singing the title role. She had madedier American debut in this "same auditorium in “Madame Butterfly.” The Italian composer, Aldo Franchetti, wrote “.Namiko San” in a bungalow at Keansburg, N. J, his inspiration being the soloist of the evening, vyho had many times rung under his direction with the Chicago and San Carlo Opera Companies. * Tune in stations listed in Dial Twister under WEAF at 9:30.
