ENLARGE CIVIC AFFAIRS BOARD C. of C. Invites Clubs to Help Committee. Letters inviting presidents of sev-enty-five organizations to name representatives for associate membership on the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce civic affairs committee have been mailed by President Dick Miller, it was announced today. Organizations invited include civic luncheon clubs, community civic clubs, professional men and women’s organization, the Central Labor Union and groups of organized business men. Creation of the associated memberships will afford a means whereby all organiaztions interested in civic welfare may act harmoniously and in concert on important civic problems, Miller said. The civic affairs committee’s most important work for the community has been in its efforts for economy in local government. The Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce has won wide recognition for its effective work in this regard. More than $5,000,000 was eliminated from budgets between the time of first recommendations by department heads and final adoption by tax levying officials last year, the committee playing an important' part in effecting these reductions. The result has been that the 1928 tax rate is 94 cents on each SIOO ies3 than would have been required by the original estimates, Miller said. Miller explained that while invitations were sent to only seventyfive organizations, other organizations overlooked, but which may be interested in the work are invited to send representatives to the committee. IF BACK HURTS FLUSH KIDNEYS Drink Plenty Water and Take Glass of Salts Before Breakfast Occasionally. When your kidneys hurt and your back feels sore, don’t get scared and proceed to load your stomach with a ' lot of drugs that excite the kidneys J and irritate the entire urinary tract. | Keep your kidneys clean like you j keep your bowels clean, by flushing them with a mild, harmless salts which helps to remove the body’s urinous w’aste and stimulate them to their normal activity. The function of the kidneys is to filter the blood. In 24 hours they strain from it 500 grains of acid and waste, so w T e can readily understand the vital importance of keeping the kidneys active. Drink lots of good water—you can't drink too much; also get from any pharmacist about four ounces of Jad Salts. Take a tablespoonful in a glass of water before breakfast j each morning for a few days and your kidneys may then act fine. This famous'Salts is made from the acid of grapes and lemon juice, combined with llthia, and has been used for years to help clean and stimulate clogged kidneys; also to neutralize the acids in the system so they are no longer a source j of irritation, thus often relieving j bladder weakness. • Jad Salts is inexpensive; can not; injure; makes a delightful efler- j vescent lithia-water drink, which ! every one should take now and then j to help keep their kidneys clean and active. Try this; also keep up the water-drinking, and no doubt you will wonder what became of your kidney trouble and backache.—Advertisement.
