HOOVER’S RACE UNITES FORMER BUCKEYE FOES Survey Shows Divergent G. 0, P. Rallying to Standard of Secretary. BY KAY TUCKER Scrippa-Howard Staff Correspondent COLUMBUS, Ohio, Feb. 24.—The reunion of normally divergent Republican factions behind Herbert Hoover in his Ohio primary contest with Senator Frank B. Willis -has caused comment among politicians as to the strength which the Secretary of Commerce might have snouid he be the presidential nominee. Practical politicians and idealists, machine and anti-machine workers, wets and drys—their apparent response to the Hoover appeal may be clearly demonstrated by April 24, no matter what the detailed result of the primary may be. Organized political workers, leaders in civic affairs, social welfare people and business, industrial and financial interests have buried past differences in uniting behind Hoover. The politicians apparently see him as the best and strongest candidate to head the national ticket. Like Hts Record The social workers remember him as the man who fed Belgium and twenty other nations. The business and industrial captains like his record of efficiency as Secretary of Commerce. years, are now conferring with him daily on means to advance the Hoover fortunes. His enemies in the recent city managership scrap are on his side now. In Toledo the faction which recently defeated Walter Brown, Assistant Secretary of Commerce, in a bitter city election, is now aligned with the Hoover movement, which Brown is heading in Ohio. Mayor Jackson, the anti-Brown candidate, is for Hoover. The chairman and vice chairman of the Hoover-for-President Club were on different sides of the fence in the municipal fight, but they are working together now. Wets and Drys Friendly Even more significant is the friendly attitude of wets and drys. Though Willis will try to ascribe city leaders’ support of Hoover to their reported wet views, many leading drys and church people in downstate districts prefer the Cabinet member over such a professional dry as Willis. Hoover's three candidates for delegate-at-large are drys, and the four to be selected will be of the same type. Though not so well known outside the State as Representative Theodore Burton and Robert A. Taft, son of the chiet justice; W. W. Farnsworth, the third at-large man, is an extreme prohibitionist and a dirt farmer.

City Temples, Synagogues to Celebrate Annual Fete March 5. Purim, the Feist of Lots, will be observed by Indianapolis Jews and those throughout the world on March 5.
