BULLETIN URGES TRUCKERS TO WATCHROADS Thaws and Soft Highways May Necessitate Restrictions. Heavy truckers were advised to watch weather conditions and to consult State highway superintendents in the districts they wish to traverse, in this week’s State highway department road bulletin. Thaws likely will make it necessary to restrict loads in some localities although soft road conditions are not expected to be general, the bulletin said. Road conditions so next week announced by the bulletin were: No. I—Good stone surface from Rd. 50 to four miles north of Milan; avoid tc Rd. 46. (Not maintained from Batesville to Metamoral. No. 3—Detour around grading at three miles north of Mtincie. No. 7—Drive carefully past workmen on Hanging Rock Hill, and at eight miles, ten miles, and fourteen miles north of Madison. One-way traffic bridges at eight miles and ten miles north of Madison. No. 9 —Run-around via Mt. Etna for bridge construction. In case of high water or ice a detour will be marked at one-fourth mile west of Brimfield. No. 10—Three and one-half mile detour at Culver due to construction. U. S No. 20— New fills over sink holes east of Lagrange soft and rutted. Detour* in Elkhart. U. S. No. 24—Detour just east of Huntington until city makes street connection with new pavement. U. S. No. 27—Bridge run-around south of Portland. Detour from Fountain City to Lvnn account of grading. Bridge runaround three miles north of Richmond. Detour two and one-tenth miles south of Richmond, account grading Beeler Hill. No. 29—Run-around just north of intersection of Rds. 29 and 26. Good three-mile detour while widening road for two miles north of Burlington. Bridge run-around at five miles north of Knox. Detour from two miles north of La Porte to Jet. of Rd. 20, account construction—open to light traffic at drivers’ risk. U. S. No. 30—Short detour in Plymouth. U. S. No. 31—When new grade at eleven miles north of Kokomo is soft, traffic use the temporary run-around. Bridge run-around at one mile north of Peru. No. 32—Bridge runaround at one and one-half miles east of Shannondale. Detour at five miles west of Anderson on account of bridge construction.
