Quartet Godfrey Ludlow, Australian violinist, accompanied by Mms. Lolita Cabrera Gainsborg, will be heard in a program of old Italian compositions which will be broadcast through stations associated with the NBC Blue network at 8 tonight. All the composers represented were violinists, and Tartini and Veracini in particular, were fine artists. They all wrote their best for the violin. The complete program for this broadcast follows: "Gavotta Variata” Pugnani "Adagio” Tartini "Serenata Triste” Cortt "Intraduziono e Allegro” Germiniant "La Caccia” Chiabran "Largo” Veracini “Aria” Porpora The program will be heard through WJZ, Vw York; KDKA, Pittsburg, and KYW, Chicago, When the New York Philharmonic Orchestra is heard over WOR Newark, at 7:25 tonight, radio listeners will hear the second oldest orchestra in existence. The London Philharmonic Orchestra holds age honors. The program will open with an honorary member's composition, the “Midsummer Night’s Dream” overture by Mendelssohn. Borodin's “B Minor Symphony’' follows; then Ravel's suite “Daphnis and Chloe” and the De Sabata “Javentus Symphonic Poem.” The orchestra is imder the direction of Toscanini, who is broadcasting for his third time. The orchestra is in its eighty-fifth year during which time no concerts were cancelled and but two postponed; one on the death of Abraham Lincoln, and the other when the conductor, Anton Seidl, died suddenly. Chic Winter and his “Gang” will ‘‘take the air” from station WRNY, New York, with a novel offering of a minstrel show tonight at 10. The continuity of the program has been so well placed that the minstrle’s unseen audience can easily imagine the gestures and comical antics that the puns and songs suggest.
