Detour SALTSFINE FOR ACHING KIDNEYS When Back Hurts Flush Your Kidneys as You Clean Your Bowels. Most folks forget that the kidneys, like the bowels, sometimes get sluggish and clogged and need a flushing occasionally, else we have backache and dull misery in the kidney region, severe headaches, rheumatic twinges, torpid liver, acid stomach, sleeplessness and all sorts of bladder disorders. You simply must keep your kidneys active and clean and the moment you feel an ache or pain in the kidney region begin drinking lots of water. Also get about four ounces of Jad Salts from any good drug store here, take a tablespoonful in a glass of water before breakfast for a few days and your kidneys will then act fine. This famous salts is made from the acid of grapes and lemon juice, combined with lithia, and is intended to flush clogged kidneys and help stimulate them to activity. It also helps neutralize the acids in the mine so they n< longer irritate, thus helping to relieve bladder disorders. Jad Salts is inexpensive: makes a delightful effervescent lithia water drink which everybody should take now and then to help keep their kidneys clean. A well-known local druggist says he sells lots of Jad Salts to folks who believe in trying to correct kidney trouble while it is only trouble. —Advertisement.

HOOVER VIEWS ON CHURCH AND FLOODSSOUGHT Possible Hearing Is Seen on His Candidacy for G. 0. P. Nomination. By Vnitcd Press WASHINGTON, Jan. 27.—Secretary of Commerce Hoover’s attitudes on religion and flood control were sought today as having possible bearing on his candidacy for the Republican presidential nomination. Hoover was asked concerning word from San Francisco that he a Quaker, was married to his Episcopalian fiancee by a Catholic priest at Monterey, Cal., twenty-nine years ago. Hoover said “that is true.” He had forgotten the name of the priest, but telephoned his wife, and she remembered. He said that the marriage took place the day before he was to sail for China on an engineering mission. The priest was the only man available to perform the ceremony. He had authority, as have Catholic Army and Navy chaplains, to marry two non-Catholics. Such marriage take a civil status rather than affiliate the nonCatholics with the church, it was John Old Scout! You’re Growing As Thin As A Rail He used to be suoh a manly looking fellow with good features and a fine figure, but now his meagre flesh hardly covers his bones—He Is absolutely skinny. I’retty tough on John to have his friends talking about him that way, but the health resorts and the Mountains are populated with just such John's who kept getting thinner and thinner without trying to help themselves. That's why every underweight man and woman should take advantage of McCoy’s generous offer. McCoy takes all the risk—Read this ironclad guarantee. said by Hoover and by Catholic clergy here. Friends of Hoover wondered why the question was raised, unless with a view to minimizing religious opposition to Governor Ai Smith of New York, in case both Hoover and Smith are nominated. The Hoovers attend the Friends’ Church and their children attend a Friends school. The flood control question was brought up by Senator Willis of Ohio, an announced candidate for the Republican nomination. Willis said an attempt would be made to get Hoover's view as to how Mississippi flood control should be financed. He wants Hoover to tell the Flood Control Committee whether Hoover favors placing the whole burden of flood control on the Federal Government or whether he agrees with President Coolidge that the States should bear part of the cost. As Willis is engaged in a struggle with friends of Hoover for the Ohio Republican delegation, some saw the beginning of a political fight in Willis’ desire to question Hoover on flood matters. * Police Trim Ball Lists WASHINGTON, Jan. 27.—The Policeman’s Association has voted stricter supervision of guest lists for its next annual ball.
