KAISER IS 69; OLD BIRTHDAY POMPMISSING Friends Gather at Doom to Offer Felicitations to Former Monarch. Ey United Frees BERLIN, Jan. 27.—Wilhelm 11, exiled monarch, celebrated his sixty-ninth birthday in Doom, Holland, today. Dressed in civilian clothes and a warm overcoat, he arose early for his constitutional stroll in the huge garden of his Doom estate. Before luncheon, as on other days, Captain von Ilsemann submitted to the exemperor a complete report of the day’s news. There will be none of the flamboyant festivity that used to characterize the kaiser’s birthday in the heyday of his power. The military parades, the pretzels for school-children, who enjoyed a nation-wide holiday, the divine services in his majesty’s honor in all German churches, the singing of patriotic songs throughout the country: these and similar signs of devotion to the kaiser have been relegated to oblivion. The ex-kaiser’s birthday party will be a relatively modest affair. Members of the family, including Wilhelm ll’s brother, Prince Henry, have in Doom to contribute to making the occasion a happy one for the exiled emperor, now observing his tenth birthday in forced absence from the fatherland. There was the usual birthday table, laden with gifts and piled high with letters and telegrams from loyal followers of the Hoheneollem dynasty. Members of German patriotic societies and of the League of DieHards, made their annual pilgrimage to Doom to salute and congratulate the ex-kaiser in person. A small chapel was improvised at House Doom, where religious services were held this morning, at which prayers were delivered for the welfare of It he fatherland. This Wonderful Sponge Rubber Pad Has Put Akron Trusses in a Class by Themselves
If Akron Trusses had no other good qualities to recommend them, this feature alone would make them “Best in the World.” Without doubt the Sponge Rubber Pad is the greatest boon for ruptured people that has ever been devised. Made from a special compound of the finest Para Sponge Rubber, our pads require no covering of leather, velvet or other dirt-collecting material to keep them from falling to pieces. They can safely be washed with soap and warm water and kept sweet, clean and sanitary. Being as soft as velvet, there is no harsh pressure, no gouging or “boring in”—no possibility of enlarging the rupture opening. At the same time Akron Pads are so resilient (‘'springy”) that they will not flatten out or lose their shape even after long and continuous wear. CANNOT SLIP
But the feature that appeals so strongly to Truss wearers is the nonslipping quality of this remarkable pad. No matter what position a person may assume—no matter what kind of work he may be doing, the Sponge Rubber Pad “stays put.” It cannnot slip or slide or get out of place. And because of this non-slipping feature, it is not necessary to wear the Truss uncomfortably tight to Insure perfect retention of the rupture under all circumstances.
