M-s. Bettie Locke Hamilton, Gremcastle, one of the leaders in founding the sorority, and Mrs. D. Bligh Gasset, Winnetka, 111., nation?! grand treasurer, were guests of honor. During the luncheon Miss Ocie Higgins sang “Lave Never Faileth” and “A La Russe.” Indiana University chapter of the sorority presented “St. Peter’s Revue,” and the Butler chapter gave a playlet, “A Theta Plaything.” The walls of the room were banked with palms and smilax was used on the lights. From the center of the ceiling hung a pussy willow ball with streamers of gold and black, sorority colors. The speakers’ table held a long centerpiece of yellow roses, acacia and uphorbia and at either end of the table were yellow and black tapers in silver candelabra. Tea Program of Music Will Be Held Jan.3o The music section of the Woman’s Department Club, Mrs. Wilson B. Parker, chairman, will give a program and tea Jan. 30 for members and guests. Asa memorial to MacDowell, one of the great American composers, a program of his music will be presented. Show Sunday on Program of Sorority ONE of the feature entertainment events for the annual province meeting of Delta Theta Tau sorority, which convened at the Marott hotel today, is a minstrel show to be staged by Alpha Epsilon chapter of Indianapolis, under direction of Miss Clara Oblinger, Sunday afternoon following a dinner in the hotel Crystal room. Those taking part include Mrv F. K. Prutzman, Mrs. Jean Sturgir Stout, Mrs. Ronald Clift, Miss Rowena Smith, Miss Dorothy Oblinger, Miss Alpha Bassett, Miss Violet Herlitze, Mrs. Eugene M. Reid, Miss Marie Karle, Miss Mary Ludy and little Miss Betty Trimble, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Scott Tremble. Mrs. Carl J. Rusie will play accompaniments. Additional aid for the sorority’s Kentucky mountain school project, near Brinkley, Ky., was urged by Mrs. Prutzman, philanthropic secretary, who reported to the convention Saturday that thirty-two boys and thirty-one girls are now err-* rolled in the school. The school, known as Betty’s Troublesome, so called because of its location on Troublesome Creek and of an old mountaineer named Betty who lived on the school site, conducts classes from the first to eighth grades and comprises students from 5 to l 9 years old. Arrangements Announced for Costume Ball The committee in charge of general arrangements for the annual costume ball of the Little Theatre Society of Indiana Feb. 13 at the Indiana ballroom has announced that the grand march will start at 10 p. m., an hour after the beginning of the dance- • A number of special vaudeville acts will be presented during the evening. • The ball is to be termed “A Night in Spain,” but costumes need not be restricted to Spanish attire. The committee announces prizes will be awarded for the most beautiful costume, the most unique, and the most grotesque, both to men and women. The group of judges includes Carl Lieber, Kathryn Pickett, Lucile Sullivan and Edna Levey. The ball is a non-membership affair. Tickets, which went on sale Wednesday, may be obtained at the Playhouse, the Indiana ballroom, and at Kautz Stationery Company.
