THE FIRST “sample” program of Walter Damrosch’s plan of national music education will be heard at 7 tonight over the NBC Blue network played by the New York Symphony Orchestra. The program is as follows: PART I For children of the grammar schools. Allegretto from 3ympnony No. 8 Beethoven Entrance of the Little Fauns Pierne Bcherzo from Symphony in B Flat Glazounow PART II For students in the high schools and colleges. Overture to “Midsummer Night’s Dream'' Mendelssohn Andante from Symphony No. s..Beethoven Local fans may tune in WJZ, New York; KDKA, Pittsburgh: KYW, Chicago: WLW, Cincinnati: WOC, Davenport: WHO, Des Moines; WOW, Omaha: WHAS, Louisville; WSM, Nashville, or WJR, Detroit. Melodies from the works of Victor Herbert, king of light opera, will make up the entire program radiocast from WBAL, Baltimore, at the dinner period, 5:30, tonight. Victor Herbert's musical comedy "The Red Mill” will be broadcast as the Philco hour feature through the NBC Blue network at 8 tonight. Jessica Dragonette, soprano, will sing the leading role. Governor Alfred Smith will be heard over WNYC, New York, at 8:10 tonight, when he speaks at the annual dinner before the State Bar Association, meeting at Hotel Astor. The Overture to Massenet’s "Phedre” will be played during the hour of Slumber Music broadcast Irom WJZ, New York, at 10 tonight. Numbers of Gounod, Bach, Gluck, Tsc haikowsky, Dvorak, Handel and Strauss are included in the program. The American Opera Company will sing a condensed version of "Faust” radiocast over WOR, Newark, at 6:45 Sunday evening. Louise Homer, famous American contralto of the Metropolitan Opera Company, her daughter, Louise Homer Sfcires, soprano, and Wilbur W. Evans, bass baritone and winner o: the recent Atwater Kent National Audition, together with the Atwater Kent Orchestra, under the baton of Robert Hood Bowers, will be heard in the Atwater Kent radio hour Sunday night at 8:15, over the NZC Red network, from WEAF, New Yoik.
