The student branch of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers will send a program over the air from Purdue tonight at 7. Tune in WBAA, 273 meters. An element of mystery pervades the program of the General Motors Family Party to go on the air at 8:30 tonight from WEAF, New York, over the NBC Red network, concerning the identity of a prominent soloist to be featured during the hour. The balance of the program will bring radio listeners music of a symphony orchestra, under the direction of Roderick Graham, a band concert under the direction of Patrick Conway, and as an interlude between the band and the soloist, music by Joe Green’s Novelty Orchestra. Local fans may get this broadcast from WGN, Chicago; WSAI, Cinfrinnati; WOW, Omaha; WHO, Des
Moines; WOC, Davenport; WHAS, Louisville: WSM, Nashville, or WGY, Schenectady. Another famous Gilbert and Sullivan comic opera, “H. M. S. Pinafore,” will be presented by the KOA Light Opera Company, directed by Freeman H. Talbot. It will be put on the air at 9:15 tonight. The same stellar cast that played ‘‘The Mikado,” given over the Denver station on Dec. 14, will have the leads in this production. A program of selections by Russian composers which will be played by the Neo-Russian String quartet, with Annette Royak, soprano soloist, will be broadcast through stations associated with the NBC Blue network, at 9 tonight.
