DELAY IN ELECTRIC RATE HEARING ASKED System Being Tried Out in Huntington May Get Further Test. The Northern Indiana Power Company today asked postponement of the hearing set for Jan. 18 on the optional room rate system of charging for current for residences, now being tried out at Huntington, Ind. The system was put into effect temporarily in August. Objections were filed by Huntington residents. Under the new charge system, which the company desires to extend to other cities, a residence is charged a flat rate for current up to a certain amount, depending on the number of rooms. The hearing postponement was requested on grounds that th£ company’s engineers will not complete an appraisal of the property until April or May.
