BucanoVich at one time was a leader in bootlegging here, but is now a fugitive from justice after jumping bonds following his latest arrest on a cahrge of violating the dry law. Besides a divorce decree, Mrs. Bucanovich was granted restoration of her maiden name, Summers, on her plea that she did not want her young son to bear the notorious name of his father.

All Souls’ Unitarian Church pastor and recognized literary critic, selected the winning line from the list of those winning the daily cash awards. The grand prize, a $203 StewartWarner console radio, goes to Irving P. Blue, 4233 Boulevard PI., postal finance clerk, for his last line submitted to Limerick No. 9. of radio station WKBF, Hoosier Athletic Club, will broadcast at 8 o’clock tonight the eighteen limericks which comprised the contest, together with the lines which won each day’s cash awards. “That I am delighted goes without saying,” Blue said, when notified of the decision. "In the face of such good, keen competition, however, I am also surprised. In fact, I have been trying to forget the grand prize in order to avoid disappointment in not winning. I thank The Times, the judges and the National Furniture Company for so splendid a New Year’s present.” Dr. Wicks, in choosing the winner, commented on the excellency of the “last lines” submitted. Fla., Dec. 30.—Anxious to compete with other ports of the Atlantic seaboard for the shipping business to and from Central and South America, Miami is making a strong bid for Federal aid in obtaining a still deeper and wider channel in Biscayne Bay. . Mayor E. G. Sewell is pushing the project. The move to make Miami another commercial link with the rich countries to the south was decided upon when United States Senator Duncan U. Fletcher of Florida advised Mayor Sewell to take up the matter of additional harbor work with Congress.
