THE Women’s University Glee Club of New York, under the direction of Gerald Reynolds, will be heard with the New York Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Walter Damrosch, in an RCA . Christmas program which will be broadcast through stations associated with the NBC blue network tonight, at 7. The program includes a selection from the “Messiah,” old Christmas songs, and numbers by Strauss, Liszt and Dvorak. A Christmas eve program from WOW, Omaha, at 9 tonight -will comprise a cantata, “Childe Jesus,” in carol form, consisting of a number of beautiful musical selections. Members of the A. S. F. Club of the Irvington School of Music will broadcast the following program for the Indiana Federation of Music Club hour, Sunday, at 3 over WKBF. The program has been arranged by Adelaide Conte. The Atwater Kent program, broadcast at 8:15 Sunday night by NBC Red network, will embrace a group of familiar carols sung by a mixed quartet of well-known radio artists. The Christmas afternoon program from WLW, Cincinnati, at 4:30 Sunday afternoon, will include organ, orchestra and violin numbers of a wide variety fitted to the yuletide season. The Crosley Bandbox hour at 8:15 frcm the same station will be
divided as usual into four periods. The first is a group of Christmas music gifts: the second is fifteen minutes with musical patrols for the toy soldiers: the third comprises selections by Beethoven, Von Weber, MacDowell and Mascagni, four composers born in the month of December. The fifth period is a fifteen-minute review of master melodies from famous light operas. The Davis Baking Powder Company in their hour at 1:30 Sunday afternoon, broadcast by WFBM, will sponsor a presentation of I Handel’s “Messiah” to be sung by a group of the finest soloists here. The personnel of the program is; Jane Johnson Burrough, soprano; Mary Traub Busch, contralto; Charles Vaile, tenor; Edward La Shelle, baritone; Jesse G. Crane, piano; Martha Winkenhofer, violin, and Lucille Springer, cello. The program will be heard as follows: Overture-Trio arrangement.
