WHEN Purdue and Butler Universities line up between the backboards at Purdue tonight for a basketball contest, WBAA, the Purdue radio station operating on 273 meters, will have its “mike” carefully adjusted for sending the game over the ether to Hoosier faas. The broadcast will start at 7:30. A program of selections from tragic operas, brightened by a number of lighter pieces, will be presented by the Continentals in an hour’s program which will be broadcast through stations associated with the NBC Blue network at 8 tonight. The Continentals are under the direction of Cesare Sodero, Maestro of NBC grand opera productions. The singers will be Astrid FJelde, soprano; Grace Leslie, contralto; Allan Jones, tenor, and Frederic Baer, baritone.
