Bu United Press ROME, Dec. 16.—The Roman salute used as the conventional Fascist greeting has begun to penetrate the regular Italian army, which hitherto used only the conventional military salute of raising the right hand. An order by the ministry, of which Mussplini is the chief, ordains that officers and men of the aeronautical force must give the Roman or Fascist salute when they are not wearing caps or other headdress. The Fascist salute, copied from that used by the Legionnaires of ancient Rome, consists in extending the right arm straight from the shoulder with the palm turned up.

HOUSE LEADERS CAUGHTIN JAM Must ‘Ditch’ Administration or Small Corporations. Bn Times finer Ini WASHINGTON. Dec. 16.—Republican members of the House will be confronted in a few days with the embarrassing decision of whether to go back on the administration or upon the owners and managers of approximately 100,000 small American corporations. The House, acting in committee of the whole, has adopted a Democratic amendment to the tax bill lowering rates of Income tax on corporations making less than $13,000 a year. Many Republicans voted for it, although there was no record vote. Administration leaders plan to attempt to repeal this amendment, when the bill comes before the House itself. And majority members, Including those who voted for the amendment in committee, will have to go on record. The Ways and Means Committee recommended to the House that exemptions on corporation income tax be Increased from $2,000 to $3,000 and that the fiat rate be lowered from 13 Vi per cent to lift per cent. Instead, the House on motion of Representative Garner, Texas, voted to give corporations with an Income of not more than $7,000 after taking off the $3,000 credit, a tax rate of 5 per cent; those with not more than $12,000, 7 per cent, and those with not more than $15,000, 9 per cent.
