SANTA SELECTS TIMES CONTEST PRIZEWINNERS Names May Be Printed in Saturday’s Paper, Says Radio From Pole. BY THE SANTA CLAUS EDITOR Santa Claus •will announce the winners of the “Why I Like Santa Claus” letter writing contest for children in tomorrow’s Times! The Santa Claus editor received a radiogram today from Eskimoland in which Santa promised faithfully to have the winners ready for The Times to print the names in Saturday’s paper. It has been a hard task, Santa said, to go through all the letters—there were almost a thousand—and decide the best ones. Santa is such a kindly fellow, you know, and hates to disappoint any children, so it is difficult for him to decide the winners. v Meanwhile, Holly Berry, special Times correspondent, who accompanied The Times-Kleinschmidt Polar expedition and found the home of Santa Claus in Eskimoland, is on his way home across the Alaskan ice floes. The movies they took of Santa in his home are on the program tonight at the Garfield Theater, 2203 S. Shelby St., and the Sheldon Theater, 1504 Roosevelt Ave. Here are the names of more Indianapolis children found by Holly Berry in the books in which Santa keeps the name and record of every boy and girl in the world: Regis Lauer Jr., Florence McMahon and her brothers and sisters, Tim, James and Marion; Thomas McCurdy, Donald and Kenneth Pemerton, Helen Wagner, Mary Flaskamp, Emma Hardin, Florine Hardin, Eulalie Rust, Ruth Sheffer, Mary Gray Smith, Robert Fitch,

Red paint was used to daub the Garfield school buildings with huge “Ws.” Each of the boys, four of them students, and the other an outsider, have been compelled to go to work an dearn money to pay for removal of the paint, the bill amounting to $48.17, and have been denied several privileges. CHARGES BRIDE LIED Chicago Man Seeks to Break Marriage in Suit at Valparaiso. Bv Timex Special VALPARAISO, Ind., Dec. 16. Phillip Perron, Chicago, has filed suit in Porter Circuit Court here to annul his marriage last September to Emily Perron. The ceremony was performed by G. E. Bomholt, local justice of the peace. The husband alleges the bride answered questions falsely at the time of obtaining the marriage license, specifying questions relating to the bride’s age being 18, and as to her being an inmate of a home for paupers or a refuge for persons of questionable character. He alleges she was only 16 years old and used matrimony as an escape from being committed to an institution. William Colay, Hazel Whitaker, Thelma McWilliams, David, Almos, Minnie Linzie, Clara Perko, Mary Woods and Donald Wratten.

Phonograph and Two Lamps Mellowtone Phonographs are true to their name—and more. No name, no words, can adequately describe their startling natural reproduction. Recent developments In sound reproduction eclipse in importance all of the progress heretofore made in the science of acoustics since the origin of the phonograph; and this new knowledge has been brought to its highest state of perfection in the Mellowtone.
